Amazing stay, Robert is an amazing person, making everything he can to make you feel as you would be at home or even better with such a nice breakfast. Apart from this, the views are just unbelievable and the house is really an historic building in the area. We highly recommend staying here for visiting: Doubtful and Milford Sounds. Thanks...

This is a memorable place to stay with very friendly and professional hosts. The breakfasts were good and kept us going all day! The rooms have a fantastic view, hence the name, and it's perfectly suited for those doing the Doubtful Sound tour. Only an easy five minute walk to the boat. It is really a taste of New Zealand...

This was a fantastic location to enjoy Manapouri lake. We used for a stop over before a overnight cruise. Wished we had spent another day. The house was built in the 1880's so new it isn't. But it has a fantastic host family and a great breakfest and a ton of history and information. Bed was comfortable and the floors...

We spent two nights here while visiting New Zealand. Had wanted to stay in Te Anau but due to Chinese New Years they were full. The house does have great charm and a wonderful view but having to drive to 15 minutes to restaurants and activities meant we didn't get to take advantage of all its assets. Although the room...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and we are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. Manapouri is a small place with Te Anau just 20kms away, however, there are a couple of dining options in Manapouri and it is the departure point for all excursions to Doubtful Sound so our place is very handy for...

We stayed here for 1 night. The property is in a nice position with views of the lake and mountains from the gardens. The room was basic and clean with a small shower and without TV. The host Rob was very friendly and helpful and kindly offered to hang up our wet clothing. A basic breakfast was included. There were...

spent two days here before a cruise to doubtful sounds. Spectacular sunset and great service in an historical house. Many pictures from early settlers on the walls. Just 100m or less to the beach in Manapouri lake. We bought some take away sallads from the supermarket in Te Anu and some wine to enjoy at sunset just below the house,...

My wife and I stayed at Murrell's Grand View House for two nights during our trip to New Zealand. We had a wonderful experience staying here. Highlights: 1. Old world charm with stunning view of lake Manipouri in the back yard. And you can easily take a nice stroll to the beach along the lake. 2. Great location. Only a...

We stayed a couple nights at Murrell's and it was nothing special. Yes, the house is old, and that can be charming, but overall we didn't care for it that much. We opted for this location over Te Anau since we were doing an overnight excursion on Doubtful Sound and the departure point was literally right down the road (walking...

Thank you for the review. We do have feedback forms in the rooms for means of rectifying any issues in a prompt fashion. Just to clarify the windows are fine to open during the day but suggest to close them at night due to insects ( mainly moths due to being on the edge of NZ rainforest) and remind people...

We had a wonderful relaxing stay in this historic coach house. Views are amazing. Hosts are 'no fuss' people, who work hard in the background. We made good friends with other visitors here, as we enjoyed dinner together, then sat around the open fireplace

Thank you for your review. As you alluded to in your review as fantastic as the views, breakfast etc are, it is quite often the other travellers one encounters that make the journey so special. We hope to see you again.
