The lodge is beautifully set on the edges of Nature's Valley and offers spectacular views. Both the lodge itself and the outside area are beautfully decorated and you can see that someone did it with love - someone that really cares for that place. There is plenty of space for BBQs, camp fires, a romantic tree house and opportunities to...

I am so amazed by this place! It feels like a treehouse and everyone is really nice and helpful and even though I only stayed 24 hours I enjoyed it a lot. Especially the food is worth mentioning! When they ask if you want to have dinner and breakfast there, please say yes! It's awesome!

I can see why people stay here and then decide to go back and volunteer and stay longer. I wish I could. I am really struggling to get back into every-day city life after just a 2 day stay at this astonishingly special place. Over and above the incredible atmosphere, scenic beauty and the views, management and staff were also...

What a special place! Firstly the grounds are spectacularly decorated with natural materials and recycled crafts. Everything there's is geared toward sustainable living and the "Earth Angels" (the volunteers who work there) were beyond helpful. Secondly there is so much to do in the area. On the grounds of Wild Spirit there are many walks including one to magical waterfall...

Wild Spirit has a really great atmosphere! We spent there 4 nights and felt well entertained: drumsession with fire-hoola-hoop-dancers and two times live music. The dinners were absolutely delicious: perfectly spiced, big portions and even a "second round bell" if you are still hungry. The staff was very friendly and helped booking for Blukrans Bungeejump and gave out maps for...

If Glastonbury is your "thing" and hanging out with barefoot, dreadlocks, beads and rhythmic drums round a camp fire you will not want to leave. Food excellent and lots to do in the area. Canyoning absolutely amazing and can be arranged from here. However...as. 53 year old man travelling alone I was definitely a square peg in a round hole....

Really nice relaxed and laid back atmosphere hostel. Great deck viewings where breakfast and (very tasty!) dinner are served. Lot of additional services offered with walks through nature's valley, activities, tips for restaurants. Great to have a stop in the middle of nature to de-connect !

Wild Spirit is a perfect name for this backpackers lodge. Set amongst farms in Natures Valley, this environmentally-concerned hostel is a great stop for exploring the Garden Route. Driving down the dirt road, small buildings are sprinkled in the trees, one with nature. The lodge exists around the environment and there is a strong focus on minimizing impact. They pump...

We spent 3 nights at Wild Spirit. The international staff was welcoming, helpful and attentive. Upon arrival, we could sense a strong connection with nature and a real good vibe in the place. There's always something to do, places to explore, interesting people to talk to and the food was delicious! Definitely worth the trip!

Wild Spirit Backpackers Lodge is a well-loved, laid-back and friendly family-run business situated on Khoinania farm in The Crags. Located right on the western tip of the Tsitsikamma National Park, it is literally in the heart of the Garden Route, between Plettenberg Bay and Storm's River. Close to Nature's Valley beach and lagoon this eco-friendly open-minded backpackers is surrounded by indigenous forests with blissful views over the valleys and mountains - the ultimate place to come and relax. Accommodation ranges from simple and lovely private en-suite family and double rooms, to ready-made Safari tents, bunk free dorms and simple off the grid camp sites for budget travellers looking for a quiet place to rest their souls. The beautifully sculpted Driftwood Boma and Tree-house deck are great places to soak up the sun and contemplate the peace of your surroundings whilst meeting new people, or cuddle up in the cosy Log cabin with the cats, dogs and a fire on rainy days. Everyday enjoy yummy nutritious dinners and breakfasts, lovingly prepared with fresh local ingredients. Alternative and sustainable energy designs, creative spaces and organic gardens are dotted around this magical 18-hectare farm. Activities on the farm include swimming in the rock pools of a private 80m Waterfall, or taking a short walk through the indigenous forest to visit the majestic Yellowwood tree. Alternatively, you can get your hands dirty in the gardens, learn a new craft from one of the many skilled staff members, or relax in a tree-house with horses grazing nearby. If you manage to tear yourself away from the beauty of the lodge then there are various animal sanctuaries nearby including elephants, big cats, birds and monkeys, as well as local horse-rides and a great farm stall to pick up some lunch. Nearby Nature's Valley is ideal for nature lovers with walks and hikes in all directions, and is one of the most pristine beaches on the Garden Route. The lagoon down there is also spectacular for swimming, kayaking, and bird-watching. Adrenaline and adventure activities such as the world's highest Bungy jump, Africanyon river adventures, and Tsitsikamma treetop canopy tours are nearby. The come home, relax with sun-downers on the deck, and spend an evening under the stars talking to interesting travellers around the fire whilst the team prepare a delicious home-made dinner with fresh produce from the organic gardens.
