While the resort itself is more 4* the service in the restaurant especially from Tanuj is 5*!!! At every meal Tan was there to greet us and had a table ready remembering our drinks order and he was always on hand to get us more drinks or anything we needed. Friendly towards my son, Tan made our stay an enjoyable and memorable experience and I would return just to get that service again!
Just what you imagine a tropical island in the Maldives to be, absolute paradise. The snorkeling is amazing. The staff are very helpful and polite. We did the All inclusive package with BA holidays, which is very restricting because you can only eat in the main buffet restaurant. After about 4 days we ended up trying the other 3 restaurants. HOWEVER, you only get a 15% discount off the bill if you eat in the other restaurants when you're on the all inclusive package. Mixture of nationalities staying on the island from Europe, Japan, India and Russia. The entertainment was good, especially when it was the staff. We were not fans of the Karaoke evenings, but the Russian guests seemed to really enjoy it. Absolutely brilliant holiday but we wouldn't go All inclusive next time.
Staff are lovely but the all inclusive is just terrible, the main restaurant is like a hospital canteen, poor food and almost the same everyday, no atmosphere. Rules are ridiculous, the place where you can get free drinks has loud music and when I asked if we could take our drinks somewhere quieter which was another bar just a few feet away I was told no. I have never ever asked for a bowl of chips at lunchtime, again no as I wasn't a child. I was celebrating my birthday and we wanted to take a bottle of the inclusive wine back to our room so we could sit outside our room and I could open my presents, again, no. On the positive side, the pay for restaurants are fabulous.some of the front staff are rude which is a shame. Thankyou to David who was so lovely. With some management on side and small changes this could be so much better…
Let us start with the positive: Lovely beach, nice and spacious room right on the beach, lovely and very attentive staff. The restaurant has the charme of a canteen., eat and get out. The fruit they serve is lovely and breakfast is good, but main courses are mostly very spicy Indian food and fish and meat totally overcooked. The worst however is that there is an open air bar that turns disco at night and pumps out very high volume techno music that blasts across the island and makes it absolutely impossible to sleep before midnight. Although I talked to the manager about this he wasn't able or willing to accomadate guests who are not into techno. So guess what? We won't be going back.
for a month I've been thinking of writing this review. I never do this but I think I have to this time. The island Bandos hotel was on is really nice. The hotel was a bit old but over all the rooms were good inside and everything was functional. However, the service was not good at all. The people who were serving you for the most part were ok with some exception but the rules put by management were extremely unfriendly and produce very bad customer service. I think the rules were designed for anyone who has an all inclusive package to consume as little as possible. example, every time you order something ( a diet coke for example) they have to take your room number then issue a bill that says 0 on it and you have to sign and put your room number again and sometimes your full name. Then if you are sitting on the beach and you want a drink, the people working at the beach bar will never come out and ask you what you want, you have to go and ask for a drink, and if you want drinks for your family then all your family has to come in to the bar to order. we like the island it was nice, the room was ok, food was average at best and no variety, service horrible. Maldives is expensive and if you are spending that much money to go there try to go to a place that your welcome there not a place where they don't want you there they just want your money.…
We selected the Bandos Resort for its proximity to the Male Airport and based on facilities for our two children. We were in for a wonderful treat! The whole process of reception is seamless and you can feel the hospitality right from the welcome area! Talk to Rakesh "Goli" for his tales about snorkeling and fitness. Personally inspired by his take on life and how he manages to balance both work and pleasure from his level. Fijo is a nice calm person and always there to help! Tanuj from the main dining area and Jannu from the Sandbar are very dynamic personalities and always know what you need ... somehow!! The food options are wonderful - spread ranges from continental cuisine to Indian options dashed with plenty of dessert options! Chef Ajay is a master with his Indian range of cooking - the ever smiling face is only the start to the warmth that he exudes. Tanuj is a wonderful host and conversationalists. Overall, the folks here know exactly what you want and need right from your smallest preferences (type of drinks, food, accessories - plastic cups for children). It took us some time when I came back from Maldives since I kept missing the care each of the folks gave our family! The location is fabulous - on one side you have the beautiful beachfront with several options to hang out. Kids will love the hammock and the swings. Noteworthy is the hammock in the ocean (do not miss it) and the futuristic cocoon swing. There is also a kids area within the clubhouse and the three hostess there will love your children to bits! They also offer arts sessions to keep the kids busy which is a good time for the parents to have some alone time. The Sea Breeze Restaurant and Hunan Restaurant offer some amazing sites into the ocean. You can also catch glimpses of shoals of fishes being pursued by larger fish in the ocean. They also offer snorkeling classes and have a separate dive area at the Bandos Dive Center. The resort also has a wonderful swimming pool with sections marked for the adults with an attached bar counter. There is also a kids pool for the younger feet to dabble in pure clean water! For all the cleanliness enthusiasts - this place is amazingly well maintained! Hats off to the maintenance staff! We would recommend the all-inclusive option. Also my personal recommendation is to have the Scottish Piper scotch whiskey they have on offer. It is a blended scotch whiskey but will give all the Glen lovers a run for their money! Nothing to complain about - this place was wonderful!…
Stayed at the beautiful Bandos in January for our honeymoon. It truly was everything thing and more than you’d expect from going to the Maldives. We had 10 days all inclusive which I would recommend and the food options were 10/10 every day thanks to chef Ajay. We ate out a couple of times. The Kalamari at Huvan cooked by chef Priyantha was the best ever. So good we had it 3 times. Lovely meal at seabreeze served by the brilliant funny welcoming Afran. Also a mention to the entertainment at sand bar each evening was excellent. Along with superb service at all times by Jaanu. We had room 255 which was pretty much half way between the facilities which was a beautiful stroll either way. All in all it was perfect and would hope to go back in future.
Had a great time there. Amazing palce good food, good staff, well trained chef 👨🍳. We met with the chef ajay , he helped us and provided us with the good vegetarian food, as I am pure veg. Will surely visit again. 😊
Excellent food service and location Visited Bandos many times, just keeps getting better new refurbished rooms Restaurant Umiyaki was absolutely amazing please give this a try Local band The Wood Live music once a week singing many well known songs See you all soon
The Most beautiful place I have ever been too, the staff where I unbelievable we went with our 13 month old for our honeymoon we was meant to get married in 2020 but it never happened due to covid. The staff were great with him, and the team in the kids club were all fantastic we took him there for 1-2 hours in the afternoon to play. The buffet restaurant was amazing but actually we enjoyed dining in all the Ala Carte restaurants too, the grill was our favourite. The snorkelling was amazing seeing black tips and turtles. The room was perfect and modern. Will definitely return once our son is a little older ! A massive thank you to all the staff especially Fijo who looked after us everyday for breakfast and Jumaan and all the sea breeze team. Thank you Elliot, Vicki & Arthur
