Hotel Pompei is not in Pompei proper, but rather a 10 minute drive away in nearby Scafati. Scafati is a rundown suburb of Napoli – itself a rather rundown city. To be honest, the surroundings of the hotel are quite appalling. The first impressions upon arrival to the hotel are not the best either, but the rooms are kept to...

The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable with a nice view of the landscape and mountains. The friendly and cheerful breakfast staff served the daily breakfast which was very good with a nice selection of food to choose from, a great cappuccino to start the day. The air conditioning in the room helped me to sleep better with...

We spent 2 nights at Hotel Pompeii whilst visiting the Pompeii ruins. We were made to feel truly welcome at this comfortable, relaxed family run hotel. We stayed in a family room which has plenty of room for the 4 of us. The room was exceptionally clean with a small fridge to keep drinks cold and very effective air conditioning....

At the time of my arrival I had experienced some nasty sides of Italy (Start bus Italy was the cause of that), I was exhausted, late and also terrified as a solo female traveller. I got in touch with Elena from the hotel by mail a few hours before arriving to Naples, and she was waiting for me at the...

We stayed for 2 nights on a short tour of the coast. Loved it. The staff are amazing. Exceptionally helpful, going above and beyond any expectations that we had. The room was very spacious with an enormous balcony overlooking the mountains. Facilities were great, Wifi the best we had in Italy. Food was very good and the pool heavenly. Best...

My sister and I stayed here for 1 night while doing a trip through Italy. We arrived to a pleasant welcome and a spotlessly clean hotel, while swimming in the pool we looked up and all the doors looked like brass so highly polished and shiny. We stayed and had dinner which I think is run by all the family...

My family and myself had chosen this hotel to stay in for 5 nights in order to be able to visit surrounding areas including Pompeii, Vesuvius, the Amalfi Coast and Naples. There is not much to do in the walking distance of the hotel, however, only a few kilometers away are some of Italy's best attractions. The hotel is kept...

We stayed here for a week, which was ideal for visiting Pompei, Sorrento and Napoli. Breakfast was very nice. Scafati is not the most cosy town in Italy, and waiting for the bus can be a frustrating activity. Train station was a 15 minute walk so we didn't need to rent a car. Relaxing by and in the pool was...

We booked this hotel because we wanted to be near Pompei (a short bus ride) & wanted a good-sized pool. The staff were very friendly & helpful. They now ask guests to sign a daily bill for food/drinks consumed so everyone is clear about what they have paid for. This hotel is good value, however it wasn't easy to reach...

The rooms are clean and of a good size. The hotel is 45 min walk from Pompeii and 25 min walk from the local train station, the hotel staff offer a free transfer from the station- which we were grateful for but unfortunately it later became apparent we had been charged. There are many takeaways in Scafati, so we ate...
