We stayed for at the hotel for two nights because Hostal Tiana was full. An ensuite double room costs 25$. Breakfast 3$ extra. ++ the host is super friendly ++ location ++ free luggage storage (if you need to leave your luggage for the Quilotoa Loop for example) ++ clean bed -- it has obviously been a hotel for 40...

Stayed here a couple weeks ago with my wife & her family as we visited the Saquisili Thursday market and Quilotoa Lake. The name's accurate -- right in central Latacunga. As most have noted, the owner is extremely nice and attentive. She offered coffee several times, helped with travel directions, and even gave us a complimentary picture frame as a...

At first glance you might walk past this hostel, but it is definitely the best choice in Latacunga! 2-person private room with private bathroom (very comfortable beds) was only 20 dollars per night (10 per person). The family that runs this hostal is very friendly and helpfull. The shower was hot and we could use the kitchen to make breakfast...

Rooms were basic but clean. With hot water and free wifi. Free luggage storage if needed. Soap and towel provided. They do have breakfast but you have to pay extra for it. We went to a nearby cafe instead for breakfast every morning. There's also a bakery not too far. The room we had overlooked the main square which was...

I stayed for a week at this warm and friendly hostal/hotel and from the minute that you walk in you are made to feel at home where I was greeted by an offer for a free tea and cake. This hotel is located in an amazingly central location (as the name implies) and is great value for money. As an...

We looked at the hostel Tiana first which seemed a little expensive and not too welcoming. The Hotel Central is just around the corner and was a really great find. We had a large, airy room with private bathroom overlooking the park. It is an older hotel and a little shabby but very clean, loads of hot water in the...

We had looked at this hotel before when headed south and stopped by when we returned on our way to Quito. We were immediately invited to the kitchen/dining area for coffee. I was surprised to find I could actually carry on a conversation in Spanish with the owner, a Palestinian woman who has owned the hotel for 35 years. When...

We stayed in total for 3 nights. After the fisrt night we went to the Quiloa-Loop and could left some stuff at the Hostel, what was very helpful. The rooms are a little bit oldschool but clean and the price is great for budget traveller. The breakfast was also good and cheap. The owner lady was very kind and offerd...

We're travelling around for one year and our experience here was lovely. The owner is the best lady ever! So so sweet and friendly and made us feel really welcome. The room was clean and amazing value with a lovely view. We had a great time and would definitely stay again.

After reading recommendations online, we opted for this hostel as everywhere else was fully booked. We were 'greeted' by the land lady who was very unpleasant and quite abrupt. Once we were shown to our rooms, we discovered that the bathroom had not been cleaned in what seemed like weeks due to the stale smell of urine and dirt on...
