Maya Cala has a lot of what I look for when I plan a vacation, it is located in a private area with so much to do on-site yet close to many great points of interest and activities. Every morning I enjoyed sipping on a cup of coffee outside, listening to the birds and soaking in the fantastic scenery from...

We were there over Christmas with our family (3 kids and 2 adults) and both sets of parents/grandparents and rented the entire house. Had a fantastic time and loved being in this little paradise. You are literally in what feels like the middle of a lush jungle with this amazing Caribbean blue lake out the front door. The yard is...

We took over 2 of the suites in the house - the Casita and the Nest. Loved it. the rooms were spacious and bright. The lake was dead calm all week and perfect for kayaking. The jungle has thickened considerably since the last pictures were posted. Sally and Miguel were both pleasant and easy to deal with and answered my...

This place is a gem and i hands down recommend it, We have rented this villa twice now and can't imagine having a better "home base" while traveling in the yucatan. With only about 20 stairs taking you down to a beautiful warm freash water lake, there is hardly reason to leave the property. Last time we were there we...

I have traveled to Bacalar many times and thoroughly enjoyed every stay. This was the first time that I stayed at Maya Cala though and I wasn't disappointed. Maybe because it is a little bit off the beaten path, maybe because it actually is out in the jungle, but this was really different than any of my other visits to...
