My husband and I stayed here from 12/31 - 1/2. It isn't newly constructed, but has been well maintained. There's an onsite restaurant, which has a great ceviche and excellent fresh fruit juices. You can have food delivered to your room as well. Family owned and operated and excellent service. Hugo speaks great English if you're rusty on your Spanish....

It is old , kind of ugly and price wise nothing related to what we paid. $60 us dls . For a little more we found excelent options ... I would not recommend Puerta del Cielo at all. Es completamente un hotel de paso.

“Rooms on the laguna are beautiful. We peaked into Room 18, and it has two rooms with a natual rock wall, really beautiful and unique. Only one cabana on site, at $50, and much better than the centrally located rooms, which are small box motel type rooms.”
