Jamtara Wilderness Camp-Pench Madhya Pradesh Situated in the Village of Jamtara, near Pench National Park, Jamtara Wilderness Lodge is a 12 luxury tented property in the heart of rural Pench. Surrounded by tall Arjuna Trees and an ancient Banyan rooted on a dry riverbed, each tented room overlooks the forest which set the perfectbackground to this jungle experience. Each luxury tent is designed to feel light and open, allowing guests the optimum view of nature. With the option of rolling up the front panels of the tent, the guests can bring the outside in but still being in the privacy of their own rooms. Although, these are tented rooms, the bathroom has been made into a permanent structure for the comfort of the guests. While many may sleep inside the tent, some may feel a little more connected with nature and have the option of sleeping outside on their patio. Mosquito netting will keep the bugs away, quilts and hot water bottles will keep the cold away. Since we also believe in supporting the community of our lodge, a "Machaan" night can be booked while generating revenue for the farmers. Here the concept is sleeping under the stars, just like the villagers. These Machaans are built on the land of the farmers and an amount of the night's rate will be paid to the farmer. Sleeping up high on stilts will allow you to watch the sky and everything below. You never know what walks through the farms at night. After an eventful night, safaris are booked according to the guest's preferences along with a wake-up call if needed. During the day guests are occupied with the safaris, but if they choose to stay back, a visit to village can be arranged. Specializing in producing jaggery, just walking through this village and witnessing how the village gathers around enormous pots of boiling sugar, taking turns churning the sugarcane juice into unrefined sugar is a very unique experience. If a relaxing day is required, our lodge has many different areas for guests to lounge around and read a book. With a cozy library, sometimes all one needs is lie in and a good read in a big comfy couch. Jamtara Wilderness Camp concentrates on bringing guests back to nature in a very simple way, using our surroundings and our community, we want our guests to leave with a unique experience and remember Jamtara and its people.

From the moment we arrived we knew this place were very special! The property is about 3 hour drive from Nagpur airport which wasn't too bad. The property is very small situated in the buffer zone of the Pench forest with very luxurious tents as rooms. They were well insulated for the winter. There are all kinds of animals around the property - birds, monkeys, spotted dear. There was even a leopard sighting one night while we were at dinner. The food was fabulous - Mostly indian but you can request for whatever you like. The best part is each meal is a surprise at a different location around the property and the team do everything they can to make it special. The safaris were well organised and led by our naturalist Allwyn who was very knowledgeable. We learned a lot about tigers and tiger conservation and even got to see one! It was a truly memorable experience and worth every penny! The staff were fantastic and super helpful. Thank you!

Jamtara is a hidden paradise, set amidst the natural wonder of Pench Forest. From the moment you enter through its secret shaded path you know you have discovered something extraordinary. The large tented accommodation with a sitout is spacious and restful; though in all likelihood you will end up spending more time outside than inside. The food is scrumptious with a special dessert treat being served at the end of each meal. To add to this the setting for each meal varies and adds to the wonder of the experience. The central banyan tree invites you with its open arms and provides comfort after the safari drive or a shady location for a lazy afternoon lunch. The team is superlative and unspoilt, they are genuine and sincerely go out of their way to ensure you are well taken care of. This is a welcome change from the indifference of urban living. For our family, Jamtara has become synonymous with Pench Forest. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

Awesome place amazing food and at night the sky is unreal. The naturalists are really knowledgeable and the entire staff is super accommodating. It can get cold in the winter but they give you hot water bottles and blankets on the safaris to keep you warm. The ambience of the entire camp is wonderful. All in all a must visit for people who like luxury camping and going on safaris.

I had the most extraordinary experience at Jamtara in March of this year, we were the last group for this season as the world was coming apart. The staff were amazing during these extraordinary times. The food was superior and uncomplicated, the amenities were well appointed. I have to say the staff and location is what makes this place so special. They really have a love and it shows. The guides were able to show us tigers, leopards and all sorts of birds and wildlife in the Pench National Park. Each piece of the experience builds on the last. Another happy customer who will bring her whole family next time. There will be a next time. I am dreaming already.

We visited Penchants National Park and stayed at Jamtara for 2 nights in mid Jan 2020. We live in SA and very often visit the & Beyond Lodges in Africa and our expectations are therefore very high. Our experience at Jamtara was just brilliant and in fact in line with those At & Beyond The hospitality and quality of food was 💯 or should I say way above Our game drives were highly informative but unfortunately no Tigers 🐅 and therefore will be back Thanks you all at Jamtara for brilliant stay Highly recommended
