Stayed here for 3 nights supposedly as a treat at the end of a trip. Sadly it was very run down, no information on our room, cleaning perfunctory. A tray of food was left in the corridor outside our room for 2 days. Transport difficult. We managed to get an Uber for 13 dollars

Gamboa has truly beautiful views of the rainforest and they offer interesting excursions with knowledgeable guides. The aerial tram is a must. You are able to see a lot of wildlife. We also did the nature walk and sloth sanctuary. All of them were worth it to go. The views

The Rainforest Resort receives poor reviews because it is overpriced, poorly maintained and operated. A better option is a local B&B in Gamboa.

Yes you just have to turn up and pay entry fee. The gardens are quieter in the afternoon. Sloths are worth seeing too.

Take the buggy that the hotel operates, you can walk but it seriously is not worth it.

Is there a car rental desk at hotel? Can you rent a car from the hotel?
No, get a rental from the airport, but be sure to also have a good satnav from the company
