I have been visiting Skala Kallonis for many years and returned this year for very personal reasons. Having not stayed at this hotel before, I can say I am very glad I did, I was made very welcome, the room was good and spacious. The pool area was perfect for a relaxing afternoon. When I return I will choose this hotel,
Very pleased with our holiday accomodation. The room was enormous and cleaned every day, aircon was very effective (temp of 40degrees during the week). The pool was a delight and the breakfast was excellent and made a good start to the day.
Would recommend this hotel.we stayed for a week in August with our two children age 11 & 15. The whole hotel is very clean throughout, well kept pool area & public areas and our room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels & beds made.nice bathroom toiletries and good air conditioning in the rooms. Very friendly & welcoming from the moment we arrived. helpful, chatty & approachable staff/owners who made us feel really happy & comfortable the whole week were there. Lovely dog who lives at the hotel. Great pool with loungers and pool bar with snacks & drinks, ice creams. Good selection of cold beers and cocktails made at request and served to you round the pool. No panic for loungers, always plenty of room and loungers available and pool never too busy even in peak summer holidays time. Lunch menu served till 3pm each day. Pool open till 7pm. Lovely buffet breakfast each morning with lots of homemade or local produce. 5 minute walk in to the centre/harbour where there is lots of bars&restaurants & the beach to go to. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this hotel to family and friends.…
We spent a wonderful 10 days here and recommend this accommodation for anyone who is looking for some quiet relaxation. The staff are all super friendly and speak good English. On the first night we were greeted outside by the host and he made us feel very welcome. The rooms are spacious and comfortable; furniture is simple and there is a small kitchen but not really equiped for cooking. Hygiene is excellent. The pool is really nice and plenty of sunbeds. The whole complex is rather small scale and seems to be visited mainly by young families, couples and some elderly couples. Breakfast is included and they have a good lunch menu which is quite good and affordable. We loved the Hardy Rusk Salad! They only use their own produce and make everything themselves and you can certainly taste that everything is made with much love and care. The walk to the village takes around 8 minutes. Skala Kalloni is a peaceful villages with a lovely beach at the bay. Swimming is excellent and we loved dining at the restaurants near the beach. No public transport available so a car is recommended if you want to see more of the island. We made two trips by taxi; again a very friendly person who picked us up from the place we went to. The drives took us along some of the most beautiful routes through the mountains and even though the taxi fare was not cheap, it was totally worth it. Great place to visit and have a relaxing holiday!…
Perfect! What more can we say? We travelled with Jet2 for 1 week, everything went smoothly, as usual! Room fantastic size, we stayed in a suite with 2 bedrooms, kitchenette, good free air conditioning, free safe, 2 bathrooms and 2 balconies! These rooms can only be booked direct with with the hotel, so we upgraded directly - best decision, the flexibility with a teenager was great, she even had her own front door! Pool is big but not too big, you could actually swim a decent length and there is also a children’s pool attached. Sun-beds available all day, not a single towel on a bed before breakfast! The whole family who own the hotel are wonderful and have the most caring nature, they really do make sure you are having a wonderful holiday. Hats off to the cleaners - they were stealth like, didn’t see or hear them, but wow, what a fresh and clean apartment everyday! They even did the washing up!! The small fishing harbour, beach, restaurants and bars are just a flat 10 min walk away. The hotel is so peaceful at night, you wake up really refreshed for the delightful breakfast - a really casual, relaxed affair served till 10am. Good plentiful breakfast with home made jams, Greek yoghurt, fruit, eggs, bacon, sausages, cereals, doughnuts and cake! Lunch at the pool bar is great if you have a day at the hotel, but if you fancy a beach day then food at the beach bar ‘Caprice’ is very good value for money, and undoubtedly the best food in the resort (not that we had a single bad meal anywhere)! Also, free sun-beds on the beach - bonus! Thank you Aeolian Gaea, We will be back!…
Had a fantastic stay at Aeolian Gaea. The family were so friendly and really accommodating, making us feel so welcome the whole week. The rooms were spacious and extremely clean, with air conditioning at no extra charge, and mosquito screens on the doors and windows which was a huge help. The rooms could do with a few more ‘self catering’ resources in the kitchen such as a saucepan or frying pan, and a kettle. The pool area is lovely with beds well spaced out and a bar serving drinks and some lunch food. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. The hotel is only a short (flat) walk to a beautiful beach with a harbour and square with plenty of restaurant choice.
From the very first greeting as the coach arrived at our hotel to our departure we had such a great time at the Aeolian Gaea Hotel. Great room and a very good breakfast, lovely larger than average pool which was never crowded. As for the Theodorou family they were great hosts and were always interested to know what you had done on your days out and about, and always had time for a chat and a smile also recommended places to visit with a hire car. This was our first time to Lesvos and certainly not our last, great beaches and traditional villages to explore. We can’t rate this hotel high enough and would definitely stay again.
We are half way through our two week stay here. We have stayed at two other hotels in Skala Kalloni and this one is head and shoulders above. If you looking for a extremely friendly, family run, peaceful hotel where you are made so welcome you feel part of the family within days this is the one for you. We absolutely love it here and the staff are amazing. Everyone from George and Christos (who own the hotel) to the lady who cleans the room and last but by no mean least, Niki who looks after the pool bar and just about everything else! She is a star. The whole place is spotlessly clean and the studio is huge. We had room 203 which is enormous with a lovely big balcony looking out over the gardens and countryside and so so quiet. The beds are extremely comfortable and air con just right. We wanted two weeks to totally switch off from the day to day grind of work back home and we have certainly achieved that here. The overriding thing here is that nothing is too much trouble and you can tell they are proud of their hotel, and rightly so. We love it so much that this morning we booked to come back next year.…
This is our third stay and the hotel is just perfect for our holiday on Lesvos. The staff and welcoming and the breakfasts are great. This year they had decaf coffee (instant) available which was an improvement. The only downside this year was that the hotel seemed to be popular with the Scandinavians, who see it as a very cheap holiday. Because this hotel has family rooms this encouraged larger family groups and they tended to dominate and took over the whole pool area. The pool is not massive so you cannot avoid being splashed or disturbed. Previously this area had been fairly peaceful with the occasional jumping in, kids playing etc. We understand that. However there was a lot of diving, bombing and disrespectful behaviour by the adults in these groups so it spoilt the ambience by the pool. My understanding is that the pool area is now by law meant to be manned by a lifeguard following mandatory training. When we visited Pasaphae Hotel there was a lifeguard on duty and we witnessed them halting any misbehaviour in the pool very quickly. The difficulty is that this resort is not suitable for children as there is absolutely nothing for them to do apart from the hotel pool and the beach. The best area for families is Petra which has a more lively feel and activities on the beach, whereas Skala Kalloni is more suited for relaxation, peace and quiet. This did not bother us so much as we tend to spend our days by the beach so we just had to schedule any time by the pool when the families were out for the day. Otherwise it was impossible to find a spot where you could relax and read your book. We have booked for next year as we love the spacious rooms and the hotel staff.…
This fantastic hotel and family Theodorou welcomes you with such kindness that you have to visit them again and again..... We give the Aeolian Gaea the very best recommandations :) See you again soon :)
