let’s start of with the rooms, they are okay but don’t offer maximum comfort, the pillows are super uncomfortable the showers don’t close, and the outdoor furniture is made out of plastic and are very ugly. Second of all let’s talk about the pool: they are literal rows of mattresses but clients change the spots, kids splash and run around screaming and not taken care of by the parents. The pool side also offers a bar but we ordered a coca cola zero and ended up with a fake and cheap cola. the poolside also has seating places where clients bring chips, smoke, and mess up everything. Let’s move on to the breakfast: WORST BUFFET EVER!!! you’ve got to get your drinks yourself, the food is premade and bought, the quality of the food is horrible and the service is bad. we spoke to a server who told us it was his first day and that the hotel was getting inexperienced workers. After having a horrible breakfast we decided not to try lunch or dinner at the hotel. The fitness center is dirty, small and doesn’t have AC. And finally the hotel in general is just bad and mediocre. …
Nice enough hotel with friendly staff, but nowhere near 5 star. Rooms were on small side but clean and tidy, most staff spoke very little English, and when your bear in mind this masquerades as a 5 star hotel it really isn't good enough. There's nothing you can say is poor about the hotel, but it reminded us of the 2 star Ibis chain in Europe ... it's just like a glorified Ibis. Not knowing local prices we opted for half board, a BIG mistake. Breakfast was ok quantity was good, but I couldn't face anything cooked, just the usual Continental breakfast. Now the evening meal was a different matter... at 45 euro's each it was it was tuna or chicken, and the following night, chicken or tuna, and that was it ! Salad, pasta etc was nice enough but the chicken was miniscule. There was no buffet and the menu so limited. We complained at reception and asked to downgrade to B&B. A manager later found us by the pool and before we could say anything, apologised saying they were aware of the issues and a new menu was starting the following Monday. He said the chef would prepare us a special meal that night and offered a full refund ( for the evening meals) for the 4 days we spent at the hotel. We declined the meal and asked he provide proof of the refund by e-mail. That night we had a really nice 2 course meal in a beach bar just in front of the hotel, water, several beers and a bottle of wine, food included half a lobster and giant prawns, .. total 70 euros as compared to the rubbish in the hotel at 90. We left the next day, bumped into the manager as we were leaving and reminded him about the e-mail he promised to send. About 2 weeks later I mailed him. About 2 weeks after that I complained to the Travel Agent and in early November finally received the refund, although it was much less than the 90 Euros per night, plus drinks, they were charging... and still no mail from the manager. Just to position things on the food, my partner doesn't like fish and is a bit of a fussy eater , but I'll eat most things. I wouldn't go back here if they paid me !…
We stayed at the hotel for 3 days during October, last weekend. The staff was friendly and most spoke sufficient English which is rare on the island. The rooms were modern and clean, the hotel seems new, there was a large variety of food during breakfast. There are enough restaurants around the hotel if one wants to eat outside.
This hotel was nice. The room was comfortable however there were no windows, which we knew about going into it. It was the perfect place to just sleep in between a busy tour schedule. The coffee was great. Breakfast was limited but was sufficient. The staff was wonderful.
A wonderful place to stay in the Reunion Islands,a French administered territory in the Indian Ocean.Comfortable rooms, good ambience with a lot of greenery it was a great choice.Extremely courteous staff make you feel at home. The pool, spa and sports facilities gave us time to relax. Overall if we revisit the island we would definitely stay here.
I have been in this hotel just a night during a business trip. I had the time in the evening to have dinner in the restaurant and see the swimming pool activity and management. This is large hotel with basic activity: Food at resaturant was ordinary-mediocre, no buffet. Breakfast poor selection. Standard rooms. I had two rooms because the first was with low Wi-Fi signal and they moved me to a second room where a professional manager comes in my room to add an extra Wi-Fi repeater (great service! ). Great sunset view from the swimming pool. But the swimming pool decoration is, again, mediocre as a standard holiday area.
We stayed at Akoya resort and spa for 6 nights. Me and my wife were on our honeymoon, we must say that the staff did a great job in making our honeymoon extra special. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly especially Emily and Maxim. We had the opportunity of meeting the owner of the hotel and he took time out of his busy schedule to explain to us about reunion . The view from the hotel is breath taking, the property is located in a very convenient area. We enjoyed every minute in Akoya and we would highly recommend it.
Possibly the worst hotel experience I've ever had. They destroyed some of my property in my room. The manager was incredibly rude about it, and they refused to compensate me for their mistake! I would never stay here again.
Worst hotel for value for money that we have been for some time. Breakfast was poor for a 5 star hotel and every morning we had been looking for plates. Junior staff was hallful but cannot say the same for the overall manageress and the restaurant manageress. Made the mistake to spent New Year's eve there at €250 per person with a very ordinary buffet and without live music. Relatively good location and clean. Overall it is not recommended.
We planned a trip in Reunion Island and went to Akoya Hotel and Spa. We had such a wonderful family time. The hotel is very well situated and is cozy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is worth coming back. See you soon.
