We stayed here on the 15 th October for 6 nights. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Being a little disabled I found the “lift” to the beach was wonderful.. The beach was usual volcanic sand so not very pretty. It was wonderful to watch boats and even landing aircraft. The pool unfortunately was very cold, people sat on the edge but we only saw about 12 people in the pool our whole stay. There was a hop on, hop off bus and a local bus from just outside the hotel, this was very handy.

I travelled to Corfu in late October with my 2 teenagers and their grandparents. We stayed at the Corfu Holiday Palace. Our rooms were on the top floor, one had a lovely view over the sea and the other over the lake and airport. Seeing (and hearing!) the planes didn't bother us, it was a novelty! The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The only thing I would say is that if you have a lake view room the balcony gets no sun so it's hard to dry out swimming costumes. We were lucky as we took our wet costumes to the other room with the sunny balcony to dry! In the lake view room the shower was excellent and hot, however it wasn't quite as good in the sea view room, it wasn't very warm and the shower screen was on the opposite end of the bath to the shower so the floor got very wet when showering! The food (we were half board) was excellent. Lots of variety, plentiful and delicious. There was soup, salads, bread, fruit, cheese, main dishes and puddings galore! I am a coeliac and was very happy to see that each night (apart from the last two, which was annoying) the gluten free main dishes were labelled as such, so it was easy to see what I could eat (the puddings were not labelled, which would be a shame for pudding fans, but as I preferred the lovely fruit and cheese for pud I didnt mind). On the nights the food wasn't labelled I did ask the staff and they informed us what was GF so all was well. You do have to pay for your drinks at dinner including water. The breakfasts were just as lovely too, again labelled GF and lots of choice. The waiting staff were very attentive and helpful in the restaurant. We also ate at the pool bar a couple of times and the food was lovely there too and the service friendly. We also had quite a few cocktails in the bar in the evening and they were delicious and served by a lovely friendly barman! There is a towel system where you can have clean towels for the pool/beach every day which is fantastic. The 2 pools were clean. The outdoor pool (v salty) is extremely cold but once you're in it's ok! The indoor pool was far too hot to swim in but my children enjoyed floating in it on their rubber ring! My son also made good use of the small gym which he enjoyed (it doesn't open until 10 though so it's no good for early birds). There is a games room in which my son enjoyed beating us all at pool. This room could do with a bit of doing up however. There is also a lovely indoor play area for small children which we didn't use as my children are too old and a spa which we didn't use but there were some lovely ladies in the spa that looked very nice! The small beach (reached by a handy lift) was lovely. There are clean toilets and a bar as well as sunbeds (free to use) and the sea was crystal clear and lovely to swim in. The kids had snorkels to see the fish but you could see them without! We were fairly lucky to have travelled late in the season as the hotel was quiet so we never had to fight for a sunbed or queue in thd restaurant, so this may gave made our stay even better! Also thd weather was fantastic all week which was a bonus! All in all we loved the Holiday Palace! Thank you to all the staff.

At the beginning of September I went back to Corfu Holiday Palace with my mum and 6 year old brother after a wonderful first visit in June and what a wonderful trip we had. From the moment we arrived we were looked after. Thank you for the welcome surprise in our room and consistently ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the trip. The staff were amazing with my little brother and he had the best trip. The children's menu has enough choice, the games room is a great addition and I'm sure he would say he loved the Oreo ice cream sandwiches. Id like to give a special shout out to a few of the brilliant staff: Gianis runs the pool bar with his eyes shut and is such a great addition to your team. He is extremely friendly and always went out of his way to ensure a great service Spiros was amazing all holiday. When he wasn't taking orders at the pool bar and around the pool he was serving at dinner and he did such a great job. Thank you for being so attentive and always welcoming us each morning and evening. He worked so hard and we appreciated everything he did for us. The only downside of the whole trip I would say is that the pool in September was a lot saltier than it was in June making it quite difficult to swim in without your eyes really stinging. However, the hotel beach was a good alternative with lots of sunbeds and a beach bar serving food and drinks. I can honestly say the best thing about this hotel is the staff. Even after only 1 visit and seeing hundreds of different guests they still remembered me. Thank you for being so wonderful and always having smiles on your faces. This will now be a hotel that I visit every year. I look forward to coming back again with friends and family. See you again in 2023!!

I would start with the location of the hotel which is very near to the airport and gives spectacular views of the sea or the airport. We had half board menu included in our stay and the food was excellent, buffet type, lots of options. The hotel room was very clean with comfortable beds and pillows and a nice terrace. Not least, the pool was nice and offered some cool views with the sea behind while the beach area was were we spend most of our days, in the warm water or laying on the sun beds.

We visited at the end of October, and were lucky to enjoy perfect weather. Our room overlooked the lake, and therefore the airport - this was not a problem for us at all, although the sun never shines on the balcony. As stated by others, the hotel could do with a bit of updating, but overall met with our expectations - Food was ok, wide range and plentiful; wine choice at dinner was good; staff were very friendly; beach was lovely, as was the sea. If you asked at reception there was plenty of information of how to do things locally. If you want to go into the main city buy tickets from the mini market next to the car rental place at the hotel entrance, tickets are only 1.10 euro each, as opposed to 1.70 if you buy on the bus (the owner was lovely in there too). The 2a bus final destination is the square by the Old Fortress, and buses are regular. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel, it was good value overall, location was great, but not if you don’t like airplanes. It is convenient for Corfu. We would recommend En Plo cafe near the Old Fortress for lunch. Watch out for mosquitoes in October, we got attacked in Mon Repos on a trip there in the morning!

We arrived at this very grand hotel @ 12 noon to be given our room straight away which was much appreciated as we had just got off a 6am flight. On check-in Maria, was informative, welcoming and very pleasant, (I had to ask about towels after reading previous reviews, so something to maybe keep in mind.) Our sea view room was spacious, lots of storage space for clothes and all girly stuff for 2 sisters. Our beds were like little clouds we later discovered. The hotel is quite vast, so we took our time discovering where the pool, bar, restaurants, shop, spa and lift down the cliff to the private beach where (the lift down the cliff is a bit daunting but you do get over that fact when you have a beautiful private little beach to watch the planes coming in and out and the tourist boat trips in the sea just beyond the beach). I got some lovely ice coffees while my sister set up 2 sun loungers and sat in the sun enjoying the pleasant surroundings, which unfortunately does come along with wasps and mosquitos but heyho the hotel can't control that. We found over our 5 days every single member of staff pleasant, friendly and always wanting to accommodate. While we were there, I wanted to surprise my sister with a birthday cake from the staff and they were happy to accommodate this with only a few hours' notice. We found the half board food really good, lots of variety, although the plates could have been larger, but always lots to choose from. The water in the outdoor pool was extremely cold but I found it refreshing, my sister not so much. I would advise everyone to use public transport, it leaves outside the hotel and can drop you right down into the centre of things for 2 euro instead of the 15 euro taxi. This hotel despite the nearby planes is a quiet secluded area so if you need to be near a variety of bars, restaurants shops etc maybe here isn't for you. We are already planning our return. Thank you to Nacer, all reception, pool bar and restaurant staff for making 2 over worked girls happy.

Lovely hotel, not really a five star more a four star, even if star ratings vary from country to country, the hotel is on the peninsula south of Corfu Old Town and only approx 500 meters from the main airport runway. If you have the so called "lake view" which face inland you have buildings in front then a small lake then a view of the airport runway. This can be annoying for many people as the takeoff and landings can be loud. However many people like looking at the take offs and landings. Recommend booking Seaview rooms to reduce any potential noise and obvious nicer views. The bedrooms were large and clean and were tidied and cleaned every day. I would suggest that the furnishings are modernised as they seem to be dated. The beds were also comfortable. The hotel itself is very nice, underground parking available (great when the weather is really hot) the hotel has a beach which is served by a steep winding slope, not good for people with walking difficulties and has some metal posts sticking out of the ground which is a potential dangerous hazard. The beach is safe for children as you can wade out quite far, however the beach is only a 2 out of 5 as it is not looked after. For a so called 5 star hotel the management need to do something about tidying up the beach front, sweep the sand and try to get rid of the pebbles, stones etc this would not take much, the parasols also need changing as they look very tired. The funicular lift helps only if it actually works, out of seven days only once was it working which is not good enough for a 5 star hotel and puts you off the walk down the slopes to the beach, which is disappointing when the hotel was booked because it had a beach. There is a bar and eating facilities on the beach itself. There is a decent pool with waiter service and poolside food availability. WiFi is free and seemed to work quiet well. There is a bus service No 2a which stops outside the hotel, This takes you to Corfu Town centre and has a regular service, at time of writing if you purchase tickets at the supermarket opposite the hotel costs €1.10 for a single journey and €2.20 for a return. The journey takes approx 10 to 15 minutes and runs every 20 minutes The main hotel restaurant is excellent with good breakfast choice hours 0700 to 1000 hours. The evening meals served 1900-2200 hours, were also excellent, again with a very good choice. However beware hotel drink prices are very expensive you have to pay for still water , why? Other establishments water is free surely this is basic. €8.50 for a beer is extortionate albeit this is charged at 5 star rates. There are several other restaurants but did not try these. The staff were very friendly, professional and worked hard.

Dear Jm J, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. Regarding your comment about our rating, we would like to inform you that the star categories in each country defer, and certainly many guests have different experiences from various hotels across the world. Corfu Holiday Palace is an official 5* hotel as certified by the Greek Tourism Ministry. Regarding your comment about the lift, we would like to inform you that there was an issue about its function and while our maintenance team was settling it, there were two ways suggested to our guests in order to go to the beach, walking the path or using the hotel’s car driven by our personnel. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Corfu for an excellent stay. Best Regards, Corfu Holiday Palace

A good hotel overall, bedrooms in need of some updating but they are spacious and well equipped with all comforts. You can tell it used the be a Hilton property as the communal areas are very well designed and the rooms are extremely spacious. The staff is so corteous and nice trying their best to ensure guests are always happy. We booked a seaview room overlooking Mouse Island and despite the hotel being literally behind the airport we couldn't hear much noise from the planes from our room and we were lucky enough to be able to watch the sunrise at 7/7.30am from our balcony (priceless). We arrived about 3hrs earlier than the check-in time but our room luckily was ready so we got in very quickly. The reception is also giving all guests a towel card so we could get fresh towels for the pool/beach every day at no charge. The bellboy Nacer is simply fantastic and more than his job description. He's the person welcoming all guests upon arrival with a big smile on his face, always happy to help. He was also ordering our taxi for us to the Old Town almost every day and happy to have a quick chat with us if he had the time. We headed down the beach on the first day, accessible via a lift from the pool, the other days we used the pool as we could also have lunch there. The beach bar has some drinks and refreshments, but the pool bar feels much more comfortable with nice sofas and low tables. The food menu at the pool bar is not too extensive but offers some nice Greek and international dishes with big portions. We went for Greek salad almost every day abd it was delicious. It's not too expensive compared to ordering outside the hotel. We ordered some cocktails and cold coffee/cappuccino during the day and the bar staff is so helpful, they take the order at the bar but can bring everything directly to your sun loungers. Breakfast is good, plenty of choices and the quality is excellent, even when busy we could always get a table on the terrace. We didn't get dinner at the hotel as we preferred to go out to the Old Town of Corfu which has plenty of options and many wonderful restaurants at unbelievable prices for the quality. The hotel has an indoor pool and an outdoor pool with salt water, decent size and with lots of space around for sun loungers. The water was too cold for us so we didn't get in but a few brave people managed to swim ok. The hotel gym is quite small, located in between the indoor pool and the spa, however it doesn't open until 10am so forget about doing a bit of workout before breakfast as the timing won't work. The spq is nice but a bit overpriced, although they can be flexible and offer a small discount. We also booked the excursion to Paxos, Antipaxos and the Blue Caves through the hotel and we highly recommend it. We will stay again if we chose to return to Corfu one day as we loved the attention received by the staff, the view from our room and the fact that we could head down to the Old Town in about 10 mins for dinner.

Lovely hotel, extremely well kept. The staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful. Our room had a fantastic sea view, and cleaned every day. There was a fridge, safe and air con included in the price. Food was really nice with lots to choose from. The hotel has 3 pools and a private beach accessible via a lift or steps. There’s a small mini market outside of the hotel entrance, great for water, beer for fridge etc. Kanoni Cafe is a 5 minute walk, fabulous views and nice food/drinks available.

When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by how elegant the entrance was. It's impressive if somewhat dated. We arrived at 1.30 and decided to have lunch at the pool bar as we were early. At 3 our room wasn't ready- and after checking ever 30mins as requested we received the keys to our room at 4.35. An apology or even an acknowledgment of how long we waited would have been nice. It wasn't forthcoming. The room, was on the surface perfect for the 3 of us- a couple with daughter 7. There was a single bed sofa and two singles pushed together for the double- with single bed clothes and everything. Unfortunately the sofa was a mattress with wood reminding us of a church pew- so there was very little comfort.however it was spacious and reasonably clean. The bathroom was run down, and in need of some serious tlc. The outside area was amazing, but we only had 2 beds for 3 of us and they needed to cleans as there were spilled drinks etc on them. We didn't find the staff friendly or helpful. We were there on half board and no one said hello to us for the 9 days we were there. We didn't like the face that you had to pay for drinks- even water for the evening meal. The food was repetitive but plentiful. But you know what wasn't eaten the night before would be breakfast the next day and some foods don't keep that well. We had lunch by the pool half the time and for the cost I would expect the food to be nicer. I also ordered a porn star martini and received what was pictured. It was awful not worth 8.50 at all. The pork gyros was the best thing on the menu and anything with pasta was tasteless. Komoni cafe at the end of the road and captain George's were both better and more reasonable. We got bitten over 100 times that week by mosquitoes. They were everywhere- to the point where we didn't sit outside and bought everything we could and still were eaten alive. The hotel had the smell of sewage everywhere- it's just unpleasant and feels unhygienic. Between that and the water the mosquitos were in heaven. We saw no evidence of entertainment at the hote while we were there. Other than the pools there was little for our daughter to do- and they charge you to use anything in the entertainment room which is a bit ridiculous. On rain days we literally spent most of the time in our room playing uno. The lift to the beach was out of action the entire visit. Oh and we had cold showers for 9 days because the temperature for hot water is set too low. This was awful especially on the colder days. The saving grace of this trip was a boat we organised down by the monastery. It was amazing and showed how beautiful the island is. If you go you have to try and do that! I wouldn't return to the Corfu holiday place, it was expensive and not value for money in our opinion. They need to sort their bathrooms, water temperature, bathrooms, cocktail making and sewage issues out. The views are beautiful, but the stench is not! We were gland to come home...
