Can't argue with the beautiful view and proximity to the Duoro Valley. But if you get stuck with the interior room (no view), you might be a bit disappointed. They have a policy of no outside food or drink in common areas...which is fine if you happen to have one of the rooms with a patio/view, but if you're in...

Except for difficulty in finding this gem, the rooms, the views, the hosts, the service and the breakfasts were in the superior category. Did I mention the views? This B&B overlooks the Duoro Valley from a great height - WOW! The place was restored by the owner with a lot of antique building materials purchased in the region, elegantly done.

It is true, this is a beautiful property in a beautiful location. Sandra was great, hardworking, friendly - truely a charm and deserves some relaxation as well! She did a great job assisting us in any way possible to make our stay nice. My experience turned sour with what felt like a bit of an intrusion by the owners -...

Stayed in the pool house room. From sheets to pillows, this place had the most comfortable bed we have slept in during our 2 weeks throughtout Portugal. Too bad we could only spend one night at the casa:o( This place has amazing views of the river valley, the staff is friendly, and there is a great breakfast spread. Would definitely...

We spent 4 nights at the Casa de Canilhas and loved every minute of it. It is like staying in someone’s home, with great furnishings and just fantastic comfortable beds. The idea of everyone sitting down at breakfast together is such a wonderful sharing experience. The rooms are spacious with great bathrooms. The pool area has plenty of loungers and...

Excellent country hotel, built on a mountain valley DUARO (Valley of Portugal's wine production). Location and stunning views. The family hotel is very convenient for guests. Including swimming pool. Private quiet family. The reception staff friendly guests. Highly recommended for lovers of a rural landscape.

We have stayed two nights at Casa de Canilhas and if schedule was not an issue, we could have stayed there forever. First things first. Before leaving I read some reviews here saying this place is not easy to find. Nothing is more further than the truth. If you are driving on the N108 from Peso direction Mesao Frio, the...

Before the visit I read a lot of reviews about this inn. They were mostly good and one thing was constant, the view is to die for. There was no disappointment here. Breakfast included and a lot of personal service. Wifi seems seemless in the upper rooms. Beautiful rooms and great pool. The water is Cool here in June. Very...

We visited here for one night in early April. We arrived at afternoon check in and were shown to a beautiful room in a lower guest house with stunning views over the Douro valley and Douro river. We had 5 couples all staying here for one night and everyone's room was really nice, all with excellent views. We sat by...
