... the beach is not great. There is a lot of seaweed, and the first 30 metres of sea are full of it, both big and tiny, which makes the water completely brown. However, the sea is very shallow, so you can walk past it and go to the "clean" water, which is lovely. We've been coming to this hotel for 3 years and the water situation is always the same, so it's not a seasonal thing. The sun beds are free, but they get taken pretty quickly (we visited in August), so I would advise reserving them with towels before going to breakfast. Talking about breakfast, you can have it both at the main restaurant and at Luna Rosa. I would suggest Luna Rosa hands down. Arete main restaurant doesn't feel very welcoming - it's very busy, very loud, not with a great ambience. We would have eaten outside, but the wasps don't make it a peaceful experience, so we always opted for inside, but as I said, the inside is not great and lunches and dinners don't feel relaxing at all. Entertainment is only in French, which limits the range of activities you can participate in. However, for Aqua gym I didn't need to know any French, and it was great (apart from the time when everyone had to massage the person next to them, both shoulders and temple, which I found quite weird). At night, the music in the main pool bar is quite loud, so I would ask for a room not in front of the main pool. After dinner, we always went to the bar on top of Arete main restaurant, and that was lovely and relaxing, but the service was very very slow. The rooms are lovely and it's a beautiful hotel, with a lot of greenery. However, if you get the standard room, the sofa bed has a mattress that is only 3cm thick, not suitable for older children. Finally, the food is not great. It's okay, there is a lot of choice, but if you are looking for quality food, look elsewhere. I had a massage at the SPA and it was lovely. There was a ticking clock which made the whole experience a bit less relaxing, but that's something that can easily be fixed. Having said all this, I don't think I will be back next year. I get a lot of enjoyment from nice food, both at home and abroad, and unfortunately the quality of the food and the environment where it's served doesn't make it a good experience.

We travelled here from Gatwick as two families of four , kids are tweens . Absolutely amazing time had by all , beautiful surroundings, village feel resort with stunning pools and right on a shallow bath water warm beach . All inclusive was outstandingly delicious and tempting and served by such lovely friendly and hardworking staff . Fun activities were held for kids and adults all day and brilliant shows and other entertainment in the evening. The only negative is it is right down south so it’s a way from some of the popular resorts in the north and the capital. But we got a car for 3 days out of ten and had a great time at Aqualand, kerkyra, and some other beaches . We were more than happy to spend the other days at the resort being waited on hand and foot while admiring the beautiful view of Greece from the bar ! Absolutely unforgettable!!

The hotel was lovely - well laid out, good rooms, pool, bar and access to the beach. The inclusive buffet food, however, was sub standard for a five star hotel. I have stayed in similar hotels in Greece, both in Lefkada and Skiathos, with very similar set ups, and the food in those hotels was far superior. The food was decidedly average, particularly in the 'hot food' section - a lot of 'meat in sauce' options and a row of various types of brown and yellow food - it reminded me of a canteen in Butlins (and I have experienced this). There was the occasional inspiring dish, but it was jsut not very varied. There were also not enough staff to keep on top of ensuring plenty of water/drinks at the table - their system appeared to be to have one member of staff to deal with the drinks for a large section of the restaurant, and they just could not cope. This meant a lot of hand waving and going up to ask for more drinks - again not the level of service expected in a five star hotel. Otherwise the staff were friendly and helpful. The beach was disappointing in so far as there was a lot of seaweed as you waded in. This is clearly not the fault of the hotel and simply a natural result of geographical positioning on the island - they did try and clear it in the morning, and once you waded out past the seaweed the water was lovely - it stayed shallow for a long while which was great for the kids. All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay, once we resigned ourselves to going to lunch in the Greek Taverna next door to the hotel, where the food was very good and traditionally Greek.

The resort is very nice and the position is great, being just on the front of a very nice sandy beach. The rooms are extremely clean, with the housekeeping staff doing a brilliant job and providing fresh towels every day. The three swimming pools are nice again, with the middle one with slides for the kids; very popular attraction of the resort. Unfortunately, when we were on the resort, the animation crew was mainly French speaking. This was quite upsetting as one of the reasons why we choose this resort was because they were running kids clubs; however, being unable to understand the instructions of the games and rules for other activities, our kids did not really enjoy joining the kids clubs. This is a shame because they usually are very happy to join this kind of activities and are used to make lots of friends. Luckily there was an Italian member of the crew (also speaking English) that was able to entertain them for a few sessions; thank you Valentina! The food is not great; everything is at buffet, but the quality is not that good. The best things you will find in there are cheeses, salads, yogurt and desserts (baklava and kataifi are the best), but after spending 10 days having these, you get really fed up! There were many options of meat and fish, but we did not like the way they were cooked (we are Italian and we are not easy to be pleased in food). The meat is mainly stewed and hard, whilst the fish is usually dry and with some added sauces with weird taste. However, the restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful! I highly recommend to avoid renting a car through the resort reception; we did it and the car was not roadworthy. The headlights were pointing down to three meters from the front (this was after regulating them at the higher level). The milage on the clock was over 1250 Km and it was making a very weird noise when running over 50 Km/h - I am glad it did not leave us on the road! The beach is sandy and beautiful, it is a shame that there are many algae coming into the beach; these are cleaned from the beach every morning. The water remains very shallow for at least 300 meters, making the beach a very safe place for kids.

If you're expecting a 5 star hotel you'll be sorely disappointed. Nothing about this hotel is 5 stars. We've been in the hotel for almost a week and we have a wasps' nest in the ceiling of our patio that they are only starting to take seriously now. Ants are coming into the room every night. The small tiny bathroom for 5 ppl in the maisonette is just not appropriate for the price we're paying. We've witnessed overworked, stressed out staff. Reception is rude. When asked "Why are you showing no empathy?" Their response,"What else do you expect me to do?" Wait and kitchen staff are very kind but also suffer from bad management. Spa staff are very kind but again are overworked, hardly have time to rest and eat. Spoken to many of them who see ten or more patients a day. That's insane. Maybe a lecture in workers' rights and respect is needed here for a happier environment. Other hotels seem to get it right. Staying another week, hope it improves.

Our reception team informed both the gardeners and maintenance regarding your mention of wasp nest. They demonstrated genuine care and organized for its proper handling. Yet we have not found a wasp nest anywhere near your room. Thank you for your kind words for the spa, though it is a different company we would be happy to pass your comments on.

Pro’s Good check in and food ready for us on our arrival. Reception staff were great throughout, even when they were getting bellowed at by other guests around wasp nests by their room. Good wifi Beach is great, loads of seaweed at the start, but cleared by hard working beach staff Sea is like a warm bath in the afternoon, really fantastic Pools are good too If you like boats/yachts etc there's plenty to see sailing past Plentiful sun loungers, pool loungers go early though Good snorkeling The 3rd party watersports firm is great too Some of the staff are really great and work hard to make sure your stay is good. The layout of the hotel is really different and the grounds are lovely. Some days you had frozen towels and watermelon brought to the loungers Cons No welcome meeting with jet2, this makes it hard to work out whats what. We didn’t know about to use the other restaurants until day 2, missed a meal in another restaurant. It was trial and error. The transfer is long. Took over 90 mins both ways. Perpetual music from the animation team that’s paid for by enough carrier, doesn’t really matter where you are you still hear it. Head shoulders knees and toes at 120db when you’re trying to have a quiet drink is tiring. (why the quiet pool area isn’t open on an evening for drinks is anyones guess) Moving 20 loungers could mean 100+ extra seats of an evening. Room is ok, we had a maisonette which had loads of room the ac was weak this meant upper room unusable a lot of the time. Room set for 16, was more around 25c upstairs, they offered a lesser room which I declined due to location. Service is below average due to low number of staff. You’ll get one drink at meal time and need to really stop someone to get another. We doubled up on our orders at the start. Food really basic, very similar throughout the week. Same sweets out most days. Same salad most days. Really needs work. Drinks package wasn’t great 36 block you have to walk over a main road to get to. Golf cart service is available Water slides are 16 and under Heard stories of Half board passing themselves off as AI. When I asked the staff how they knew who was AI, they said it’s on trust. €1 band would solve this and save the hotel a significant amount of money I suspect. Lookea all have bands. Got told off for opening the door to the restaurant at 12:33 to see if they were open at 12.30, told to close the door. Then 5 seconds later they opened the door. With work it could be as good as any 5* hotel. But today it falls short.

Just returned from Mayor Di Capo and thought I would try and give a balanced review as the ones I read were quite varied. The Good Fab location on the beach with 2 nice big pools and a Childrens pool. We had a duplex room which had an upstairs bedroom for our daughter which was great and the A/C in the room was excellent. Staff were really nice and helpful. There are 3 restaurants but only a buffet service for all inclusive at one of those. For breakfast, you can have breakfast at Luna Rosa which we thought was nicer. We paid for lunch a couple of times at Il Pirata which was nicer then the buffet. Evening entertainment is at the main pool and is ok. The Bad Mostly my complaints are around the food and drink for all inclusive. The resort withTUI was a platinum resort which we had paid £6k for 3 of us in the summer school holidays. Given that, the food is barely average. There was no live cooking station offered so no poached eggs or omelettes in the morning and no live cooking at night. The buffet food was akin to school dinners with virtually no Greek food offered. The meats are distinctly average and my vegetarian daughter found it hard to find any nice food. The number of people I observed just having chips was amazing… you can elect to pay for dinner in the other 2 locations but there isn’t any discount for all inclusive and they are pretty expensive. As said above, we paid for lunch twice and went to a local taverna a couple of times as the food was not good. Coupled with the food, the alcohol choice is extremely poor. This is the first all inclusive I have ever been to with no international spirits or beer on offer. None of the bottles on display behind the bar are part of the package, amazingly even bottled water wasn’t free. The entertainment is French based and the Club Lookea folk seem to have separate events laid on for them. Didn’t mind that tbh, but if you do have young children bear in mind that the kids club is all French based. A couple of English kids left upset as they had no idea what was going on. On balance it’s a lovely hotel but for the money we paid and the 5* platinum rating it just is not that level of hotel

We have just returned from the Mayor Capo Di Corfu having had a lovely week. The hotel is in a beautiful location with plenty of sun beds by the pool and the beach. Our rooms were spacious, modern and clean with new towels and plenty of water provided everyday. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful, we had 2 very small babies in our large family party and the staff were quick to provide anything we needed. The restaurant is busy but no different to other AI hotels we’ve stayed in previously and the food was good. Thank you Mayo Capo Di Corfu for one of the best holidays we’ve had!
