Staying 4 nights here in Holy Retreat room. I love the room, the private pool, and the surrounding. For about $20, you can’t go wrong! They serve simple breakfast and I like their fried rice. My only complain is a noise coming from construction work from 8am-5pm. However, if you go out during the day (as most of guests do), it will not be a problem. I hope the construction will finish soon. The hotel will be nicer when the construction is finisihed as they will have new facilities for guests.

Apologize for what you've experienced and let us clarify several things to avoid any misunderstanding. Due to low demand of traveling and keep our establishment competitive, we have decided to add spa and restaurant in our place while also reducing our room rate to only Rp. 199,000/night with breakfast included (Normally we have sold Rp. 890,000 the lowest). We could guarantee that there's no other accommodation nearby that could give the same price with the same level of service and facilities like us. Furthermore, the construction itself does not utilize any heavy materials that could generates a noisy sound at the moment since the ground construction has been completed when Bali was completely closed for tourism activities. Regarding the pool you've mentioned, we need to clarify that there's two (2) pool loungers available at our main pool and it could not justify your complaint regarding the absence of seating area. The other pool you've mentioned is located in our holy retreat room and it's reserved only for guest who staying on that room. Technically speaking, a room with more facilities and comfort cost more than others. If we allows you to use the other pool, it means we also gives you permission to enter other guest's room without their permission. We do care about guest privacy and that's why we are not allowing guest to do so. As you were staying at Forest Labyrinth room that located 300 meters away from reception, we could not understand about "noises" you have mentioned. Our establishment was full during your stay and nobody complained about noises during midnight besides you. Through our investigation as our way to clear any doubts and speculation, we have recently scrolled through your Tripadvisor account and you have mentioned things about "loud noises" to many establishment as well. We thought that you might want to have a serene and tranquillity every time you stay and we do recommend you to search private villas instead rather than accommodation with sharing facilities like us next time. Please email us to info@theparisudha.com so we could recommend you some nice and beautiful private villas in Ubud that starts from Rp. 1,000,000/night during these pandemic season so you could have a very well and quiet stay to avoid any complaints in the future. We spent 2 nights in this tiny piece of heaven. First, the good location : 5 min away from the center of Ubud (by scooter). The reception is easy to find, the hotel though is separated from the reception (3-5min on foot through a small road). We took the Holly Retreat Room with a beautiful terrace looking over the semi private pool (shared just with another room) with a beautiful jungle view. The room and the bathroom were clean, the bed is soooo comfortable. The breakfast was ok (nothing too special) but you can ask them to deliver it in your room. All in all it was a great place, the staff is friendly, warm and super helpful (they found us a scooter in less than one hour and send us a message to be careful on the slippery road on our way home). The place is calm (no automobile noises only sounds of nature like insectes and birds) and secluded. I definitely recommend this place :)…

I stayed at The Pari Sudha for 3 weeks because of a yoga retreat I attended not far from the hotel. It was the perfect hotel and I'm happy I chose it for my three week stay. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, rooms are spacious and clean with beautiful view of the jungle. Breakfast was basic but good. The best part though was the staff - funny, friendly and very helpful, they attended every need. Thank you!

This beautiful little hotel was an absolute delight to stay in. The rooms were clean and had the most wonderful attention to detail - body cream which acts as a mosquito repellant and natural shower gel and shampoo to protect the local eco system. There are bikes available for the guests to use free or charge. The main town of Ubud is about a 15 minute drive away, but the staff are always available to get you a taxi. The rice fields are about a 30 minute cycle away which I would highly recommend. The pool isn’t the biggest, but is an invitation to relax and cool down in the heat. 2 massive thumbs up from us!

We recently booked 2 nights, online via Booking.com, based on the photos. On arrival, we saw that the place is nothing like the photos?! So different from the photos in fact that it would have ruined our trip to Ubud to stay there. We left without staying and had to find somewhere more suitable. Even the local taxi driver who dropped us there was pretty embarrassed. This ruined the start to our Ubud trip. We raised it via Booking.com who we booked with; they contacted the hotel who refused to return our funds and made us pay for two nights over $300 without us even staying? Very poor by the hotel, guess it does show their general standards and ethics though. They probably gave our rooms to someone else and received double payments from guests. The pool area and general surrounds were very small and untidy, definitely not a nice place where you can relax and unwind. The rooms were small and very average at best! The location is poor too, far away from everything including the town centre and (nice) rice fields. A very long narrow windy walk with heavy baggage from the nearest road and drop-off point. We were not expecting a 5 star place, but were expecting a 4 star. What this place is though is more like a 2 star, perhaps 3 star at best! But the pricing is more like a 4 star. I’m not normally one to leave any bad reviews, in fact this is my first. However the difference between the photos and what is really there, and the refusal to return our money we felt we had to review, to save other people from the same very bad all round experience! :(…

Thank you for your message and let us explained what was really happened at this matter. Everyone of our guests who booked a room with us in all channels will received an automatic reply that stated all information about our property in a very detailed manner. This including about our location, facilities, surroundings etc. Should the guest feels uncomfortable after reading that, then we also encourage them to cancel the reservation straight away as we would like to minimize complaint from the guest who were unaware about our property. We are even very flexible should the guest would like to cancel or asking a refund in advance since we have explained everything very detail after reservation was made. Then, let us clarify the matter. First, the guest and the driver were entered the hotel without even going to reception first. The guest driver, without supervised by one of our staff, suddenly entered a random room that is still cleaned (Which is not going to be the guest room) and the staff who was cleaned that room thought this was very suspicious since our policy doesn't allow people who aren't registered into our guest database yet entered the property without their supervision as a matter of security. The driver then made several "stories" that makes the guest a bit uncomfortable and asked for a refund. Our staff even encourage the guest to go to the reception first should they would like to talk about this matter. Based on the investigation, the guest agreed to go to the reception first should they would like to address any particular issue. However in fact, no one is even present on the reception afterward. The driver and the guest then just walked away and went somewhere else. There were lot of cases in Bali in particular where unknown driver expecting a hotel to pay a commission fee to them, otherwise they will trying their best to makes the guest uncomfortable and drive them into another hotel that could give them substitution as the driver were often lowering their price to makes guest using their service. Especially the guest commented "Even the local taxi driver who dropped us there was pretty embarrassed", and we found that something isn't right regarding this issue. The path to our property is shared with the path to a sacred local temple and if he or she's a local, then why should he embarrassed? There are no real Balinese people be embarrassed with a temple and this is certainly very suspicious. This is not the first case where a guests didn't show up and then making story afterwards such as could not reaching the place, the place isn't existed and so on. We have telephone number and pinned our location on online maps already should guests or driver would like to reach our place and unsure about where they should go. We have heard from many cottages and hotels that we need to be careful with certain unethical practice to keep our property running well or having any guest and this is one of the common practice to do so. This is also the reason why we only wants to partnered with a trust-able transport partner should the guest would like to have a transport service and we encourage them to do so. Not because it's expensive (While in fact, we have received many complaints from the guest who paid more by using online taxi services and even by using a very well-known and trust-able Indonesian taxi company), but to ensure our guest safety and comfort. We are very open about refund and compensation should our property done something wrong with the guest. However in this case, we need to follow our policy and unfortunately no refund could be made since we have lost our chance already to sold the room. Although this is a high season, selling unsold room is not as easy as the guest said in the comment. Hopefully this explanation clarify the issue and we would like to express an apology should the guest felt uncomfortable with the situation.

We traveled from the U.K. to Ubud in August 2019 and stayed at The Pari Sudha for 4 nights before moving on to the Gili Islands. The hotel is fantastic, the staff are very helpful and the breakfast good. The hotel itself has around 8 rooms and offers a really authentic, private experience. The location of the hotel is great, a short walk from the main road with all rooms having a brilliant view over a dense jungle area - very spectacular. The pool area is as impressive as it looks in the photographs with fantastic jungle viewers. You can easily travel into the centre of Ubud by taxi (around 5 minutes) or a 25 minute walk. We stayed in a garden view room which was spacious, with an authentic wooden finish. The thatched roof of the room really was special. The water in the shower was always hot and the room kept clean and tidy by staff. A range of options were offered at breakfast, traditional Bali, or ‘Western’ which could both be ordered to takeaway. We would recommend taking a bike (offers by the hotel free of charge) and cycling up the road (10 minutes) the hotel is on until you reach the Kokokan bird watching platform. The view is spectacular and the people in the village very friendly and helpful. The staff in the hotel helped to make our stay very comfortable - they couldn’t do enough for us. We would recommend The Pari Sudha to anyone looking to stay close to the centre of Ubud and still have a real Bali experience. The hotel certainly did not disappoint. …

We were searching for accommodation within close proximity to Ubud but still on the outskirts so you are more involved with the local villages and not tourists. It felt nice and secluded, surrounded by the sounds of wildlife and only a short 40min direct walk to Ubud Central.
