This is the place where one wants to be when away from home: it is glamorous, of very high quality and standard. Amazing rooms, everything is proper and it was a pleasure to be here. Excellent beds, the size of the rooms and the views. The hotel has plenty of light and the

We stayed a couple of nights to attend the wedding of a relative, there is nothing four stars about it, even the door is closed most of the time and you have to knock to be let in. The pool cannot really be called a pool but a paddle. We had two bedrooms and in neither of them

Room quiet, spacious and spotlessly clean. Small points in that fridge not working and security safe out of service too. Above all the assistance of the manager, Javier, was superb. We were tired and distressed on arrival due to travel difficulties and he sorted everything

First of all, thank you very much for posting this opinion. It is a great motivation to read comments like this and at the same time, it is our most important reward. Silence and cleanliness are among our daily policies so you will always encounter that at the Infanta Leonor. We tried to be as fast as possible fixing that fridge and the safe. Sometimes we depend on external services for these things. It has been our pleasure to have you here and I hope you will come visit us in the future when you come back to Écija. Thank you again for your stay and for this post. See you soon... Javier.

This hotel claims 4 star status and should be capable of it but appears to be run by an accountant rather than a hospitality professional which lets it down badly. 1. We arrived in Ecija, the frying pan of Spain, just after noon thinking of a swim in their pool to escape the

Response from INFANTALEONOR, Gerente at Infanta Leonor

Dear guest. We apologize for all the inconveniences you mention in your comment and for the experience you had with us. Although you mention no English is spoken by anybody in the hotel, we have 3 receptionist who speak English fluently. We have to answer to some of your points: 1. Check-in time is 2pm because check-out time is noon, so we have to have time to clean the room the way we like it to be. If you say you arrived just after noon, it is normal the room was not ready at that time. 2. If the door was locked when you came back, it is probably because from time to time, when the door is not spotless clean one of the maids is cleaning it, but as soon as we see somebody is by the door, we open it. Room corridors have motion sensors for lights, but they go on as soon as you come near an area (it is part of our energetic policy), but the way you state it, it looks like there are no lights at all. Not fair. You can set up air con temperature any way you like, that's why controls are not blocked and can be easily manipulated by the guest. 3. Even though we only give one card per room at the time of check-in, you can ask for a copy any time you want and our reception staff will give it to you with no hesitation. 4. We do have a car parking service as offered in Booking.com. I have the feeling you had no time for our staff to explain to you the way to park and you left the car on the street. 5. We have BBC World programmed in our TVs, but it is not on DTT mode, so you just have to press the "source" button on the remote control. Information is written just below the TV as well as the Information and Services booklet in your room. The way I see it the previous guest took it as a souvenir (this happens often). I am sorry you had to go out for meals, because our Restaurant, as seen in previous opinions is really good (we appear in the Michelin Guide). 6. We have several WiFi points because we think nowadays WiFi is very important in a hotel, and many hotels, as you may know, have a very poor signal. The way we do it you get an excellent signal. Remember you only have to enter the code once. We have to thank you for your comment on cleanliness and comfort which we think is one of the top reasons guests come more than once. We take our time to perfectly clean the rooms so you get that impression. July is low-season in this area but we cannot complain with our occupancy levels. They are usually higher than most hotels in the area. We also think our prices are very good in a 'value for money' sense. You can compare prices with other 4* hotels in the area and we are way cheaper than hotels of the same category in Córdoba or Seville. Many thanks for your comments. I always say holidays are based on experiences and not places and I am very sorry your experience with us was not a good one. We will keep learning from our mistakes and I hope you repeat your stay some time and we convert your experience into a really good one. Best regards.

Our third night on our Spanish odyssey and a night in what must be the darkest hotel I have ever stayed in. It was presumably out of season and whilst we were probably not the only guests, there cannot have been very many. I assume they kept the lights off or low to save power!
