Stayed in October for one week, amazing weather and beautiful structure. Amazing beach in front of the hotel and very nice food as well! Staff is very friendly even with COVID precautions they made their best to guarantee a safe and enjoyable vacation. Super recommended and probably the best you can find in Formentera!

Location is unbeatable, just in front of one of the most beautiful beaches in Formentera. The hotel staff couldn’t be more genuinely helpful and the food was delicious!! All COVID security measures were implemented and feel very safe during the holidays.

I was excited to come to this hotel as the position looked excellent. Upon arrival, I was told my room was at the lower part of the hotel, overlooking the beach. I had to carry all my luggage by myself down a long road and was given minimal directions to my room. It wasn’t the best first impression. My room, was in fact overlooking a white wall and not the beach... the beach is the saving grace of this hotel. It’s a fantastic beach, not as good as Levante or Illetes but Formentera standards. Unfortunately, you have to pay for the sun loungers on the beach.. for a BEACH hotel you would think they would come complimentary, however no. Also, the water provided at the hotel upon arrival isn’t free; after a boat ride and a 30 minute taxi you would hope they may offer a beverage, as a 4 star hotel. Breakfast and Dinner is good, the dining area again is in the upper part of the hotel, so it is slightly annoying walking up and down the hill. The price of this hotel also fluctuates severely, so when booking or if you choose to book, be cautious.. each day it changes. I don’t think I would stay here again. However, the staff at breakfast and dinner are really lovely. The food is great and varied.

Dear Alessandra, Thank you for choosing RIU Hotels & Resorts and submitting a review of your recent stay with us at Hotel Riu La Mola. We appreciate your compliments on our staff, and while we are glad that we were able to meet your taste with our culinary offer, we are saddened to hear that we were not able to fulfill your expectations in general, as it is never our intention to disappoint you. Regarding sunchairs and umbrellas on the beach, please note that in Spain all the beaches are public and the rental of these items is mainly done by private companies that receive the license from the city council. We would like the opportunity to welcome you back to one of our worldwide available hotels in the near future. With our best wishes we remain, Hotel Riu La Mola Online Reputation Manager

We just arrived from our 7 days stay at Riu de La Mola. It was fantastic. Even with the Covid situation, we felt very welcome and safe. The rooms and all the Hotel were very clean. The Buffet is very delicious. We loved the beach in front of the Hotel ( warm and clean water). The best thing of The Hotel is the staff. So nice and helpful. They really want us to feel very welcome.

Cannot fault this hotel whatsoever! Situated in an enviable location, some might say isolated but it was perfect for us. The beaches are spectacular and the warm water crystal clear. There are a number of really cool chill out bars within walking distance, which can be easily reached via a small wooden promenade along the beach. This was all we needed in the evenings, good tunes & nice cocktails. If you want to explore, I'd highly recommend hiring Ebike, we had for 3 days for approx €50. There are cycle lanes on the majority of roads, we caught an amazing sunset at Cala Saona, spent a fab day at Illetes beach and visited both lighthouses at either end of the Island. There were lots of cars & scooters turned away Illetes due to parking restrictions but bikes had no issues. We had planned to have a few meals out, but the food was just too delicious to leave 😋 There was plenty of variety every evening. The pizza & pasta station was outstanding but as Formentera is a favourite with Italian tourists, I guess expectations are high. There was always tasty grilled meat & fish options and lots of yummy veg & salads too. We weren't sure how a buffet would work in Covid Times, but with a few new changes, it worked perfect. Your temperature was checked on entry, you had to wear your facemask until you got to your table and you had to wear disposal gloves (endless supplies dotted around) while dishing up your food. The drinks menu is extensive, Havana Club 7 with Ginger Beer can be difficult to get in most bars, but no problem here and prices were reasonable too. The rooms are perfect. I would recommend a seaview as the hotel is perfectly placed to catch sunset every evening (you don't get a full sunset but still beautiful) The beds and pillows are beyond comfortable. The decor is simple but chic and the shower is really the best. The hotel is spotless with staff constantly cleaning and disinfecting in the background. The two pool areas are gorgeous, and with 60% occupancy, it is never a problem getting a comfy sunbed and still have lots of space between your neighbour. Nela runs the RIUfit classes, she is so friendly and is always bursting with energy. Her classes were very enjoyable and not at all demanding. All the staff have been extremely pleasant and have lots of friendly smiles behind their facemasks. When we arrived to the port, the taxi queue was long and very slow moving. We hadn't planned to get the bus as we didn't want to hang around but after a 40 minute wait in a taxi queue, it was the quicker option in the end. The L2 leaves 20mins past every hour, and the journey took 40 mins to our stop right outside the hotel, cost €2.50 and the bus air conditioning was very welcome. All in all, we have had a fabulous holiday and definitely hope to return to this RIU again for another luxury break in Paradise.

How much are the massages, we have booked to come here at the end of September
Answer from 63joe
Jul 2017 |
Sorry do not have the massages but did once look at price list and to seemed a lot of money but people were booking so they must have thought ok. As far the comment on lunch prices I did not understand the answer you got prices at the main pool bar/restaurant did not to me seem different to any hotel. After a big hot breakfast and knowing big evening dinner is on the way I do not require a lunch as such a small sandwich suffices for me.
