Just spent a week at this wonderful resort and can’t praise it enough! The location and setting are beautiful with well kept grounds, a lovely pool and a fab stretch of beach immediately in front of the resort. However, the best thing about this hotel is that the staff are amazing. Special shout out to Joaquin, Alessi, Sergi and Lidia who looked after us so attentively at breakfast every morning and kept us supplied with our much needed cups of coffee. The breakfast is safely served at a distance, with all staff wearing masks at all times. And every dinner we had was to die for! Again, we were well looked after evening by Paolo as well as those named above, with Loris sorting us out at the bar! If you’re interested in yoga, you won’t be disappointed. Yannis has such a lovely teaching style as well as great sense of humour, and we had a lovely relaxing class today with his wife, Anna, who also runs the onsite boutique, which I spent some happy time in. This is a small paradise. All areas are so well thought out., calm and considered.The food at breakfast lunch and dinner is absolutely delicious. The staff are brilliant. From the Guy behind the bar who made a delicious Pisco sour, to all the very helpful staff in the restaurant, the girls cleaning our rooms and the last but not least the Front Desk. This is the most important place for a hotel. Everyone was super helpful especially David. His restaurant recommendations were perfect and he was always there smiling to help with anything. I have to confess this has been a totally relaxing break BUT this is because of COVID-19. Normally this place would be full full and we have been lucky to be here with possibly 12 other people. So it depends what you are looking for, peace and quiet come off season, party time come in July and August. We have loved it.…
2nd time on this retreat - refreshing and necessary after a busy summer.... helped a load with a back ache I had, probably from bad posture in front of the computer, and since then it hasn't come back! super friendly atmosphere very healthy vibe and food and of course the weather was marvelous even tho it was almost winter!
Dear Clients Service Office On April 27-29 2019, I bought and reserved a 6-night stay at your Gecko hotel in Formentera. I made this purchase after a long research online for the best hotel in Formentera that could offer a relaxing vacation for our family including my husband, our 21-month old baby and myself. For the period we stayed at your hotel we spent over $4,300 for the room and additional services, which averages to around 800 dollars a day. This daily rate does not factor in the reimbursement of the lost booking in Ibiza due to your receptionist’s mistake for a total of $400. In any event, we were very much looking to coming all the way from New York to your hotel, and enjoy its access to the sea and the beach, in addition to the yoga classes and the pool, as described by the photos posted on your website (see attachments). Unfortunately, we quickly realized that your website was not measuring up to the reality: we were not able to use once your beach club or swimming in front your hotel. The water was dirty. The beach was completely covered by seaweeds every single day (photos attached). In addition we found the service very inadequate because many mistakes that cost us money and logistic plans issues had happened. Now, we understand that the beach is public and you don’t clean it. Every night there was a truck cleaning the beach but it was your duties to advertise that your hotel has this issue all the time. It was very complicated for us and our son to move to Les Ilettes everyday, rent chairs and umbrella, paying the parking when available or walking incredible long distances to the beach with a beautiful sea; a baby needs to nap and he can not stay all day long under the sun. I can’t say it was all so bad., we think your restaurant has an incredible chef and the staff apart of one manager was very kind and helpful. I also still think you are potentially the best hotel of the island but your website grossly misrepresent what guests can expect and plan around, particularly those who travel with young toddlers. Nevertheless we feel have been deceived by the offering posted on your website. We are therefore kindly asking for compensation in the form of a 50% reimbursement of the cost of our stay.Enclosed are copies of our payments. Amazing hotel i have already reviewed but came for the formentera yoga retreat , Jax is an amazing teacher , all the people on the course were lovely , the balance between the yoga and the setting was amazing . I really think migjorn is the best beach in europe , illetes beach gets all the awards but migjorn is longer and wilder and there are not many beaches you get a sunrise at one end and a sunset at the other . it was a super relaxing in the perfect place .
