Settled at the end of a picturesque town with only one road into town, is this country gables country inn, on a Saturday evening you are lucky enough to be treated to a home cooked meal. The owner and all staff are all amazing, making you truly feel like a guest and not a client. This is worth a visit!

Because it is titled a country inn we expected a pub. Nothing like! Set in beautiful grounds with a historical mill house also on the land Jill's home provided one night of peace and quiet. Had we known how lovely it was going to be we would have booked for longer. We were in a small cottage, separate from the... More

Two friends from overseas and myself stayed for two nights last week and all I can say is amazing. Our host Jill went out of her way to make our stay just perfect. We arrived on a day when no restaurants were open for dinner and Jill made special arrangements for us. Thank you Jill!

We stayed two nights recently at Green Gables, and we stepped back into a more elegant time. Jill the owner has a lovely place, full of beautiful antiques, ornaments and pictures. Our accommodation was a detached building with a thatched roof, and the bathroom had original fittings etc which worked well given their age. We had dinner there on the... More

Ideal to stay for a few days......... in summer the plunge pool will be amazing! A comfortable stay in a well appointed room. Experience quiet country living ....... all one hears is... More

We expected more, nobody about most of the time. The room ( the honeymoon room) was not very nice, very small, thank goodness we weren't on our honeymoon, otherwise I think our marriage would have been over. The breakfast was very good.Im sorry but I can not recommend Green Gables.

Green Gables is picture pretty with beautiful interior, neat, clean, well equipped and good value for money. The meals are excellent, beautifully presented and very tasty. Gill, our hostess, was very hospitable. We loved the old world charm of this place.
