Faraway cottage is a beautiful cottage in itself with large windows and a front and back verandah, however its location is what makes it spectacular. You have views of the mountains wherever you are and it feels like you have the Small Karoo to yourself. We were able to watch the sun set, full moon rise, and were able to...

It's not roughing it and it's not pretentious. For me, it's the ultimate farm stay without lots of people. I still refuse to say which cottage we stay at. Call me selfish, it's so good. The owners have made a dream come true and the furry family extension, a pure joy. Every year, they up the quality. Things are carefully...

Tanagra is one of our favourite places in the Western Cape and this was our second stay on this farm. The Faraway cottage is luxurious enough to feel pampered but simple enough to let the surroundings do the talking. I can't think of a better place to get away from the stress and noise of the city. We loved every...

Definitely the highlight of our stay in South Africa. The scenery, and the immediate surrounding is beautiful. The owners paid a lot attention to details ranging from every cottage having its own fire place and BBQ (Braai, of course) grill to a little botanical garden along the Vineyard hiking trails with information about all the plants of the local environment.

The cottages are amazingly done, everything's so clean and perfect. So relaxing and close enough to Robertson for dinner and what not. Will 100% be back very soon! So many wine farms in the area and the donkey sanctuary is a must do!

We booked the loft for two nights and it was perfect. Anette and Robert are very welcoming and willing to recommend things to do and see in and around McGregor. The accommodation was well-equipped, modern and very good value for our brief stay. Would definitely recommend doing some of the walking trails around the farm. I would happily stay here...

We spent three days of private bliss at Faraway cottage with enough wood ,wine and provisions so that we could absorb the silence, stars and comfort of our surroundings. Great clean comfortable accommodation with views and lazy afternoons.

We were lucky to stay in the loft apartment. Very spacious indeed, and well equipped. Gorgeous views from the deck, especially at sundown time. The pool was a welcome relief, especially after the heat on the day we arrived. Robert & Annete (and Yupp) are wonderful hosts. It was actually a perfect weekend, all in all. Also highly recommend Floras...

Our Gumtree cottage was perfect. Good situation. Good amenities. Amazing vew over the garden, near the pool. The stoap was a perfect place to drink a glass of wine or to take our lunches and dinner. We have made beautifull trail around the vineyards and in the Nature Reserve.

“We have enjoyed the Loft, just upstairs from the tasting room. Perfect place to relax, enough room for us, and outside breakfast on the verandah was a stunner.”

“If you need anything, just ask! Our king size bed had a net, but recommend bringing mosquito spray. A torch or night light is also a good idea as it is very dark at night. Limited cooking facilities. We stayed in the Garden cottage.”
