I spent 1 month volunteering in Fiji and visited Kuata twice with my fellow volunteers, this was because it was by far the best island in Fiji! The room was immaculate and right by the sea, the food was delicious and the staff were absolutely amazing. During both of my visits I took part in the shark snorkelling with the...

Barefoot Kuata was our second stop on our island hopping through Fiji. We stayed in private De Luxe bure right in front of the beach. This was expensive accommodation but it was sooo worth. You will stay in beautiful tent with private bathroom right under the sky. View and beach was lovely, water was sooooo hot that after our arrival...

Everything about this place is incredible!! Food, snorkeling straight out the front of the rooms, staff, views were some of the best we saw in Fiji. So much to do but plenty of space to relax and do nothing. Snorkeled with sharks a 15-20 min boat ride away, deserted beaches to explore, mountains to climb. You'll love it here.

My girlfriend and I spent good 10 days exploring the Yasawa island around Fiji, traveling from one island to the next with the ferry service connecting the islands. We planned our stops upfront, intending to spend spend 2 nights per island. However, we decided to extend our stay at Barefoot Kuata with 3 more nights, as we simply enjoyed it...

I had an unreal weekend at Kuata barefoot resort in August. Absolutely beautiful island with crystal clear waters right off the beach. All the staff were fantastic and very welcoming and accomodating. Dinner and lunch was always great with some local boys playing music whilst you ate every meal. The bar was great and an excellent place to chill out...

My original plans put me at Barefoot Kuata for 6 days, and then sent me onto other islands which I never made it to because I simply couldn't leave Kuata. The warm staff felt like family after just a short time there, and it was honestly very hard to make myself get on the ferry back to Nadi in order...

It was wonderful. The hosts are so friendly and helpful, and the island so beautiful you just can't help but relax. The beach is pretty and I swam all day. The provided lunch is fresh and lovely and best described as a kiwi bbq with crunchy coleslaw, potato salad and sausages, with a stirfried Asian noodle option too. The island...

I spent 4 wonderful days at Barefoot Kuata Island. Staff members are extremely friendly. This island is quiet and very beautiful. Then, I enjoyed all the little attentions and details during my stay there. This resort is not crowded and it's great. For me, all these parameters made my stay very relaxing and an absolute luxury. I'm diver and I...

We had a too short a stay on this island. It was gorgeous with the scenery of rocks and beautiful blue ocean. The staff are just delightful and the best group of people we came across whilst moving around Fiji. We really enjoyed the food which was of great quality and served in lovely surrounds. There was a buffet breakfast...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Now part of the Barefoot Collection, Barefoot Kuata Island is about the feeling of freedom and living in harmony with our environment. We don't refer to our island as a "resort". Our eco-lodges are about living simply and sustainably. Rather than a tourist destination run by technology, Kuata is run by the warmth of its' people and the beauty of the environment. Our island is deliberately uncomplicated, unfussy and unpretentious. The breath-taking coral gardens, situated just off the coastline are amongst the finest in the world and allow you to snorkel right from the beach. We offer visitors a tranquil environment and our eco-lodge is the perfect destination for nature lovers in search of a one of the few Fijian islands unspoiled by man. Guests can expect unparalleled snorkelling excursions with reef tip sharks, beautiful coastal and forest trails, visits to nearby Fijian villages, kayaking...the list is endless. Step onto our island and lose yourself in the world of Blue Lagoon and Castaway. Settle into "Fiji Time," and you'll come to discover a virtual treasure trove of things to explore - both on land and in the surrounding waters. ... more   less
