We stayed at the Rising Sun in September while hiking. The rooms are really nice with a big bathroom. The rooms were quiet and the beds comfortable. Ate dinner there which was good. WiFi worked in our room. Had breakfast there in the morning before heading on. Nice and clean place.

We stayed here recently because all other accomodation in the area was fully booked. It didn't disappoint. The barman handed us the key to a spacious room which was clean and comfortable. There is a cosy bar and an adjoining restaurant downstairs. The staff are friendly and welcoming and it has a local feel about it.The following morning we chose breakfast from an... We stayed in The Rising Sun on Monday 1st Nov '16. We were quickly checked in and found our room to be comfortable and very spacious. The bathroom was big with complimentary shower gel and shampoo. Towels were spotless, fluffy and white. The bedroom had tea/coffee facilities , TV , and really comfortable beds.....one single, one double. There is free... More

Comfortable, good basic food. Bar, and ballroom dancing Monday night's. Traditional music and song Tuesday nights. Ideal for hill walkers, cyclists, and indeed anybody who likes a village setting for a night or two.

The Rising Sun is about 1.5hrs from Rosslaire and made a very good stopover on the way to the west coast. Reception was friendly and efficient. The room was bigger than average, well equipped and in good repair. The local steak was juicy and tender and the residents were friendly. Breakfast was freshly cooked and generous. It's just off the... More

Family dinner as we were staying at the B&B down the road. Really enjoyed the food and service. The daily carvery special was generous, god selection on the kids menu. The pub room was a lively place when we visited.

Pleasant stay here, downside is there isn't a lift or atm machine, a little too far out from Kilkenny town, €50 in a taxi! So unless you are prepared to drive bring plenty of money! B&B fantastic value for money, staff friendly and helpful, food great

Travelling back from Cork turned into Mullinavat due to others online reviews for here and we were not disappointed. Big well decorated restaurant for size of town and food was excellent. Not far from Motorway. Do yourself a favour and make the turn.

We were recommended to stay here and we were very glad we were. It is a lovely pub and we ate here in the evening. The food was amazing, I mean, really amazing! The service was good as well. We all really liked it. The pub had a fabulous atmosphere and it was lovely to be in. Our bedroom was... More

Broad menu and the carvery lunch special, €11, is a good deal given its size and your location. The Sticky Toffee pudding was a highlight of my eating there as dinner didn't live up to expectations from lunch. Rooms are spacious, the bath was a real treat, and with a little tweaking needed to sort wifi in room and tv... More
