Our apartment was fairly basic but perfectly adequate and very good value for money. It's position just above the shore was so relaxing. We would have been happy to sit on the veranda forever! This property is well way from the main tourist areas and if, like us, you arrive on a Sunday most local shops and restaurants are closed...

If you love the cruise ship experience and luxury gated resorts, do not read on – this delightful place is not for you. If you want a relaxed tropical vacation with home comfort, welcoming friendly local people and beaches of silken silver sand and clear blue waters, this may be your ideal vacation. Ellen Bay is definitely not a cottage. It has all the facilities for cooking.I have read some of the reviews regarding the rooms not being attended to.The book states that rooms will be cleaned every 4 days.We are here only for 4 days as we can't get into the original place we had booked until Dec 1st.Flying from Canada flights leave...

For a start these are not cottages, they are studio rooms in a large house. Each room has an external door, but are certainly not cottages. The room was basic - double bed, kitchen area (gas rings, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee percolator, fridge and crockery/cutlery) and small bathroom (shower). There was ample outside seating areas in the shade, most with...

From the minute we arrived until our final day Bernadette made our stay fabulous. In fact the best holiday we have ever had. Antigua is one of the most welcoming places we have ever stayed in. Loved every minute and can't wait to go back. Thank you so much Bernadette. x

Bernadette is absolutely amazing! Although she was not on the property when I arrived, she allowed me to enter the room and get settled in. The room was cozy, however there were some things that were not what I was expecting. The bed was slightly dirty, and had dust and hair on it. The water pressure in the shower was...

We loved our stay at Ellen Bay Cottages. Bernadette was the ultimate host! If you want a bit of local flavor this is it! We stayed in one of the upstairs two bedroom apartments with a shared balcony and beautiful sea views. The ocean is one minute away and you can swim there. The bottom is grassy though, so wear...

I traveled to Antigua alone. I did not want to stay at an all inclusive resort with a mass of noise and people. I was going to Antigua to relax. Ellen Bay Cottages and Ellen Bay Inn were perfect for me (I stayed at both). The cottage was fully furninshed and had a fully equipped kitchen. On the days I...

If you don't like the impersonal nature of large hotels this place is definitely for you. You feel like you are in the Antiguan community with a feel of the way of life. Bernadette couldn't be more helpful or personable, doing as much or as little to aid your trip as you want. We were there for the test match...

Wasn't expecting too much from Ellen Bay Cottages based on the price being so much lower than almost anything else on the island. What we found was a nice clean room where everything (wifi, satellite tv, air cond, phone) worked. Bernadette is not only an exceptionally nice person but goes out of her way to help if asked or even...
