We had the most amazing holiday in Cassia Cottage. I can't thank the staff enough for their care and attention. Everyone was so nice to deal with. My boyfriend was ill one of the days and the staff were so kind, they even made him tea to help him free of charge. The restaurant has a wonderful variety of Asian and Western food, everything we had was gorgeous, as were the cocktails! The rooms were clean and spacious, the blackout curtains were great as the sun rises early. It's a great place to unwind and relax surrounded by nature. A few reviews comment on the bugs but it's to be expected as you're surrounded by trees and plants-the bugs aren't in your room and there isn't a crazy amount of them. Obviously it's a bit more pricey than other places in Vietnam but its still good value and you are paying for top quality service. The fact the water is drinkable is a huge plus! We also got massages which were fantastic. The only downside was that the bar and restaurant closed at 9:30 so we could stay to have a drink after dinner. However I would still recommend 100% and I hope to be back someday!…
Myself and my partner stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. The friendly staff, good quality food, and convenitent location were the winning items. The overall standard of maintainence etc is slightly behind what we would expect from a 4 star hotel in Europe, but we still loved our time here, and would come back for sure.
There are many things to like about Cassia Cottage. The facilities are beautiful and well kept - I loved my room and the three pools lived up to the hype. There are ample places to sit and enjoy, and you can access the ocean when it is safe to swim. The Spice House is also very good - the food was delicious and the included breakfast was very impressive. Plus, the staff at the restaurant were great. I also LOVED that the hotel was eco conscious and that you can drink the water, though I hope they switch to bamboo toothbrushes and combs as well rather than plastic. The location is also close to the main road and night market so it is easy to access shops, other restaurants, and other spas. My main critique is that the central reception was not very helpful around helping to plan my trip. Other hotels gave me way more advice or thorough explanations of what there was to do. This hotel did not - I asked when I booked and they said that I should wait until I got there (bad advice) and then when I did they mostly handed me a brochure for John's Tours (another mistake...my tour of South Island was a glorified shop tour) and told me I would need taxis to get anywhere (mostly true though the night market is close and there are also souvenir shops all over the main road if you want to buy pepper, honey, fish, candy, etc.). I know they are short staffed but compared to how helpful and thoughtful staff were at other Vietnamese hotels, I felt like this one I was on my own. …
The resort itself is beautiful. Gorgeous landscaping, maintained well. The pools were always clean and it was clear that management put a lot of care into the property. Restaurant and reception staff were excellent - very helpful and friendly. Good cocktails at the bar and nice restaurant food. When the weather was good we really enjoyed iced coffee, fresh juice and cocktails by the pool. Special thanks to Xay, Phuong, Sang and Anh in The Spice House! It's not the fault of the resort, but they are still recovering from the coronavirus slowdown, so visitors may find that the place isn't quite as lively as it may seem in the photos (we also visited in low season, which would have affected our impression). For example, The Malabar was closed the whole time we were there. This wasn't a problem, but it might be useful for other travelers to know what to expect. Undoubtedly, this situation won't be unique to Cassia Cottage, and I think they've actually done a good job of keeping up standards in low season, with fewer international guests than normal.…
We travelled through Vietnam for 2 weeks in late June 2022 and had our first visit to Phu Quoc. Like much of the rest of Vietnam there were some excellent deals to be had on accommodation and our two bedroom (each with large ensuite) Beach House was great value, with sea views and our own veranda to sit on and enjoy the serenity. We had a couple of hiccups with one of the air conditioners and the hot water supply (likely due to 2.5 years of limited use due to covid). Both issues were dealt with promptly and fixed. Breakfast was a good selection with egg chef, pho, fruits, breads and the usual selection of dishes found in good asian hotels. The main pool was an excellent size although a little warm due to the climate in late June (as were all other pools from one end of Vietnam to the other). You are not isolated or captive at the resort as a couple of minute walk has you on the main road with mini marts and restaurants. Whilst we were there a couple of large coconut trees were removed and the occupational health and safety we observed was outstanding and was indicative of how well run Cassia Cottage is in all aspects.…
I found the rooms to be spacious clean and well presented. We had a bungalow with out own garden. There were 3 pools to choose from and all clean with plenty of shade and seating lay back and relax. Also poolside service. The beach is right in front and you can have nice walks each way. The Spice House restaurant looks out over pool and ocean. Sunset dining is a must. The menu is excellent and good wine list. Cocktails from 4 to 5 everyday. Breakfast fresh with plenty of choices. The Starbuck coffee excellent. The staff very helpful and always pleasant to converse with. prices good as were the meals in the restaurant. Breakfast included. We both thoroughly enjoyed the stay and leave feeling very relaxed. Certainly a 4 to 5 star rating. We will be returning for sure.
From the friendly helpful staff to the gorgeous grounds, including 3 pools and beach access, to the spacious rooms, this place is an absolute steal for the price. Our package included free breakfast, free wifi , and a free cocktail during happy hour. Walking distance into town or a decent grab drive anywhere on the island. One concern in the modern room is that you can see into the bathroom, even with the shade pulled down. Highly recommend.
I have done lots of research before having decided to book this place. I am so happy that I passed other 5-star hotel options. With one week long here time passes like a blink. Beautiful beach and breathtaking sunset, friendly and helpful staff. Sea view rooms are amazing. And the massage by the beach with the gentle breeze. While you can find your peace in this calm and still place, it takes you only three minutes walk to get to the main street in Duong Dong where you can find all sorts of restaurants. Half an hour by (slow) walk to the Night Market where you can enjoy super fresh seafood at a very reasonable price. All in all highly recommended. And if I find myself in Phu Quoc next time, this is THE place.
Excellent facility. Best staff and service I've had in 8 years of living in Nam. All the employees speak amazing english, great food and free cocktails. A place like this anywhere in the US or EU would easily run 5-10x as much.
