Really comfortable rooms for one person, nice and relaxing bed, good pillows and clean and well maintained. My only negative about the whole place was insufficient breakfast service, this was very limiting. The staff were exceptionally helpful and polite at all times.

We stayed here for 5 days, and enjoyed the location. Clean stretch of beach, and very easy to walk to shops, bars and restaurants. Room was fine, if a little cramped, with a strange lack of storage for clothes. Wet room didn't really work well, as it was difficult to avoid flooding the whole bathroom when taking a shower. Aside from the beach, there is an attractive pool which is hardly used, perhaps because there is no bar or toilets there. Breakfast was OK, with a reasonable range, but quality not the best (e.g. watered down fruit juice). The restaurant/bar has a great location with tables on the beach. We ate lunch once: the food was fine without being outstanding, and not great value either compared to other places close by. Staff were invariably helpful. The majority of guests were clearly package tourists, who spent very little additional money in the resort. I'm sure our opinion is influenced by the fact that we stayed in a much better, smaller resort in a less developed part of the island for much less the previous week. I think an opportunity is being missed here to offer something really special. The resort appears to be stumbling along, without a clear vision of its future. Priorities for services and deployment of staff were bizarre at times (e.g. removing the smallest leaves and twigs from the grass by hand, the security guy on the beach checking anyone without hotel towels)

This was our second Phu Quoc, first time staying at Sea Star. We were absolutely thrilled at our beachfront villa, literally stepped right out of our front door onto the sand then a couple of steps to the ocean. A cosy room lovely cool aircon, bed was firm but comfortable. We spent 8 nights here, spending a lot days in the sun right out the front of our villa, there is also a lovely clean pool, a touch colder for when the ocean is a bit too warm. The breakfast was lovely even the fried eggs on toast cooked to perfection and of course a Pho each morning to go with the traditional. The resort is close to everything, either walk or taking a motor bike. Lovely bar food and cocktails The staff were just wonderful, keen to please and definite worthy of a tip. Will definitively be back, just an amazing holiday, peaceful and also quiet at this time,

Stayed at the beach front villa for 6 nights. The villa was large with stunning views. Well maintained and staff are just wonderful. Restaurant well priced with good food and drinks. Hotel well located with easy walk to shops, bars, restaurants and everything you could possibly want or need. I read here about music from other clubs and construction being annoying and we did not find this at all.... completely peaceful and although construction was happening near by, we didn't hear any of it. The staff go out of their way to clean the beach and compared to many others we walked past, this was one of the cleanest. Highly recommended and will definitely stay here again. We went in October which was just coming up to busy season....really good time to visit if you don't want the place to busy. Weather was great with only a bit of rain that lasted an hr or so. Thanks heaps sea star staff ...

We stayed in the beach bungalows which were unbeatable value. Clean and simple with a little balcony facing the ocean 30 metres away. We felt like we were in paradise. The beach was kept spotlessly clean and the water was clear and so pretty. Hardly anyone there and weather was perfect. The staff were so friendly and helpful, breakfast was great. We got an online deal that to me felt like insanely good value. If visiting this area don’t miss the night markets and the cable car (safe and cheap to take your own motorbike down there - hotel will organise for you, or a driver). This is located in the best area to stay in if you like a good local experience and like to walk to everything - the rest of the island is under construction of big expensive mass produced resorts, lacks atmosphere and is super windy and dusty due to the development. Great if you’re in to high rises and touristy stuff, but that’s not our thing, get over to Phu Quoc before it all completes is my advice!

It is rainy season so most things seemed to be closed and the resort was very quiet. I enjoyed the pool to myself everyday. Restaurant staff were super helpful and food was decent. We stayed in a beachfront bungalow, which was perfect. The only small gripe would be that the cleaners never cleared anything from outside on the balcony - glasses from the restaurant etc. But honestly didn’t want to leave! There’s also a little lane nearby with more restaurants to eat at if you don’t fancy the resort everyday...

We stayed in a Superior Bungalow. Nice, clean room with all required amenities including a pleasant balcony with a decent ocean view. Overall, the room size was adequate. The bathroom however was quite spacious but you have to watch your head as you enter the bathroom as the top of the entry way into the bathroom is very low and if you are tall like me you might hit your head like I did (and on more than one occasion). In the room, the Internet access was very sporadic but, on the balcony, it was mostly reliable. Breakfast was included and although the selections were plentiful the food overall was mediocre at best but at least you will find something eatable to fill your belly. Although we did not have dinner here, we did have lunch one day which was significantly better than what was offered at breakfast, but I still recommend having your meals elsewhere. There are plenty of other dining options a short walk from the hotel as are convenience stores. The hotel is also only a 5-10-minute cab ride to the night market which I highly recommend visiting. Beyond price, the main reason I choose this hotel is its location on Long Beach. The beach was only about 15 meters from my room. Although somewhat crowded especially later in the day, the beach was very clean, the water clear and the sand of high quality. There also were plenty of available lounge chairs. A really, really nice beach for sunbathing, book reading and swimming. Not on par with some of the beaches in Thailand but still a very nice beach. If I venture to Phu Quoc again I will definitely consider staying once again at the Sea Star Resort. Although the room had a few issues, the customer service was excellent, the location good especially due to its proximately to a very nice and pleasant stretch of Long Beach.

I stayed at Sea star with my cousin for 6 days, great location, great staff so generally speaking it was a pleasurable stay. The room was clean and the buffet breakfast was pretty decent. Dont expect to be blown away though, it's a nice place but very dated, it did look like they were making some improvements as there were workers doing stuff to the bungalows on the beach. When we arrived I was told we had been upgraded to a beach bungalow... But I'm pretty sure I had booked a beach bungalow so am not sure what that was about. One day we went for breakfast and the buffet wasn't on as there weren't enough people staying at the hotel which I understood... It was a bit of a blow to be offered the ommelette station menu with the assurance we could have TWO things from it... What a treat ay!!! The other weird thing about this place is the security guard on the beach, a really nice smiley chap but I think he might have a foot fetish, every time we walked down the beach he'd pop out, shine a torch on our feet and tell us to put shoes on, on another occasion he followed us to our room and watched us wash our feet in the tap outside the room. If you can get past some of these weird quirks, it's not a bad place however I think if you search hard enough you could probably find better for the cost.

In case you plan to visit Phú Quốc island, Vietnam I suggest that you give the Sea Star Resort a try. We spent 4 full days in April 2019 in this resort and really enjoyed it. Clearly, free airport pickup&return made a lot of difference for new guests. At Sea Star, we found management & staff were most friendly and helpful . The resort is quiet and secure .You may want to select a bungalow in front of the beach or a room with ocean view, then relax on a beach chair & enjoy the fresh and wonderful sea breeze. Take some time to swim and discover the neighborhood. The free breakfast was good with diverse choice and excellent “café au lait” With a reasonable budget, we were pleased and happy to have stayed at Sea Star. Many thanks
