I had a wonderful stay at this small family hotel. Very nice room with lovely view from both the bedroom and bathroom over the pool. Yen, delightful lady with the biggest smile, behind reception and everywhere else really, couldn’t do too much. The time of year meant torrential downpours of rain so she took me on her scooter shopping for food, sourced a nearby nail salon and drove me there and back. Yen suggested good local seafood restaurants, organised reasonably priced taxis, filled in my Bluezone health declaration form prior to departure for the airport. There was only myself and one other guest there! We were served mango and banana pancakes and coffee for breakfast. The beach is only four minutes walk away. Would recommend this hotel as an incredibly inexpensive option, about £8 for B and B for two in the room, but I was just one, for those wishing to eschew touristy destinations and embrace a remote setting.…
Good location with shops restaurants and beach. Breakfast was good. Be very careful with zen trying to get extra money out of you any way they can. On 3 occasions tried charging for housekeeping saying they could not get open marks off from my daughter when in fact I got them to give me the sheets and got it off easily. Charged me more for my room than booking.com even though she said that was thee best price as dealt with them direct and also don't but excursion tickets off them either as even though they again said it's the cheapest it was actually alot more expensive. I did not like how easily they lied and cheated to get more money so just be careful there.
Had slight issue with room on arrival but resolved quickly.Staff on desk helpful and friendly great location for nice clean beach and good restaurants and bars breakfast is ok with a fair variety freshly cooked crapes are good.
Wonderful place for family with kids, it got nice swimming pool, free breakfast with daily menu changes with variety of offer, We love their new waffle selections, pancake and daily hot meals. The manager, Kien , is very friendly , knowledgeable, and gave us few great tips for our stay regards the local nightlife and dining choices. The hotel is very close to the beach , only 100m or less, you can bring a few beach towers from The room or the front desk. Our kids utilize both beaches with clear water and white sands, really calm water, and The swimming pool with rarely anyone there. We got a spacious room with huge balcony and many amenities. Thanks Kien, Yen (the lady at the front desk ) for a warm and welcome memorable vacation.
Great location for any kind of travelling purpose. Just 2 mins walk to the beach. Few mins walking and thinking of what you're gonna eat because of so many restaurants that you can choose. Nice breakfast, nice pool. Amazingly peaceful place to take a deep breath and enjoy the atmosphere. Great and helpful staffs. Already had great 5 days but still looking for a chance to head back to Vela again. By the way, Mr, Kien Tran is so friendly and nice, looking forward to seeing him again when i visit Vela again.Strongly recommended!!
Convenient location. Just 2 mins walk to the beach. Plenty of good restaurants nearby. Good breakfast with crepes and Pho. Ms Yen is helpful and has a lovely smile. Helped arrange a van and driver for our sight seeing around the island. Currently some renovation work near the pool area. Looks like its nearing completion. Nice size pool, great for young kids. But should reduce clorin in the pool. Good family room size. Good work done by the room service cleaning ladies. Replenish clean bath and beach towels daily. The toilet roll in my bathroom is directly behind toilet, makes it difficult to reach. Wish the resort had bicycles for guest to use. It would be a bonus treat for the guest!
Make sure building works are complete. Stayed in November and it was like staying on a building site. Staff did their best to keep the place clean, but the pool was slippery+++ due to dust. Great Pho and Crepes for breakfast. Staff member "Yuen" very helpful and apologetic over building works that were supposed to finish in October. Ong Lang itself has been overtaken by Russians. 3min walk to beach (I timed it) was nice, but the water not always clear. Coco Bay resort charge 150,000 VND to use their lounges at the beach (even if you eat there). Had a room on the ground next to the pool with large king bed and king single. Shower over bath. Towel rack over bath - had to get in the bath to access it. Toilet roll directly behind toilet, makes it difficult to reach! I don't think I would stay again. (They did reimburse half our money because of the building works which was welcomed). Pool has steps as well as ladder. Yuen tried her best and was an asset to this hotel. Short walk to many restaurants…
We stayed 7 nights at Vela Resort, very clean, nice size rooms, comfortable king size bed, great breakfast, beach 2 minute walk away, pool and gym on site, quiet location. Minutes to walk to grocery / convenience store and many restaurants. Friendly staff.
We had been living for 9 nights with 8 months old baby. There is a free transfer from/to the airport. Is was very hepful because we arrived in 2 am. A great beach can be reached in 2-3 minutes by foot. The staff are friendly and willing to help in any situation. Breakfasts were good. Good combination of price / quality Disadvantages: Sometimes were problems with Wi-fi. Baby cot was uncomfortable and unsafe for the baby. Sometimes there was a sewage smell in the bathroom.
Staff very friendly. Always trying to accomodate you the best possible way. Rooms are clean with nice furnitures. Breakfast has the greatest crepes ever (to a French guy, this counts a lot) combine to a very decent choice of dishes and fruits. Swimming pool is goeegous and well maintained. The only thing would be about the hot water in the shower, but not a big deal as weather was always warm. I definitly recommand that place for a relaxing holidays near the beach !
