I’m not sure there are words to describe my experience. I could not have been happier with the people, the place and/or the food! My gf and I have traveled to Rome, Spain, France and NY the last year and this was our favorite trip hands down!!! We have already talked about when we would line to return!!

Having a great personal recommendation from our friends and reading all those fabulous reviews at multiple sites, one can get really high expectations. That happened to us, prior to visiting SL recently. We were looking forward to visiting this place soooo much. Let me try to be as objective as possible, since my feelings are little bitter now, besides also having the possibility to judge how other great hotels do business, both in the close vicinity to SL and elsewhere in Italy. Location: 10/10 - the set up is really impressive, the place is huge, yet the lodge placement provides enough privacy, the vistas are immaculate. Design: 10/10 - last detail was put in mind, great mountain style, yet decadent and not overdone. And I love fire places. Cleanliness: 10/10 - our two story treehouse was spotless clean. Accommodation: 10/10 - the lodge we had was huge, set up great, maybe even too large, the fireplace was wonderful to use, cosy, private sauna also, everything worked meticulously Food and service: 3/10 - there is no other option besides dining in, at least in the price. but when you pay 1000+EUR/night, you don't want to eat out :) Well the food options, the quality, does not at all justify the price you are paying. The service speaks mostly only italian and german, english very little, which makes the communication pretty awkward. C'mon, this is international hotel, so the food should be superb italian, the staff must speak decent english. How do you consult your wine choice, with someone, who is completely lost. Speaking of wine, the selection is great and at reasonable prices. The breakfast is being served upon your selection in your own lodge, but who wants to cook their own eggs while on vacation. Atmosphere: 3/10 - the WOW effect lasted like 5 minutes for us. The lady at reception was nice, spoke good english and it ended righ there. When you have to explain what "campari soda" is to a waiter, and he then brings you only soda, is kind of strange. We felt, among predominantly italian guests un-welcomed and the overall ambience of the place felt little strange. I want to feel "at home" in this kind of place, but definitely not here. Overall: 3/10 - mainly because this place is lacking something. you have to book 3 nights minimum, you have to eat their food options, to our tastes below average when compared to SL neighbours like Miramonti, Mirabell so if they provided a version without eating in, it would be definitely appreciated. The staff in a 5* establishment must speak English, everyone, from the guy taking your luggage, to a maitre'd in the restaurant. Also when promoting on social media, you really get tired of seeing some influencer's posts, bathing in a shower and 40 pictures of their breakfast, be creative, do some inhouse work. For an upscale paying clientele, we are not interested in seeing this. I hope the management of SL will do some major changes, so the non italian guests, english speaking, also perhaps feel "at home", and do not feel like they are bothering someone. Usually, we love to return to the places visit, but SL is not on our re-visit list.

Spent a very special week at San Luis Lodges, and from beginning to end it was an experience full of surprise and delight. Visited as a solo guest and stayed in the Studio accommodation, which is the one room category meant for 1 person (and priced as such) and it was spacious and luxurious and felt incredibly private. The studio has the private sauna (privacy glass with a view of the lake) and a deck large enough for a lounge chair and small table, but doesn't have the outdoor hot tub or a fireplace... I knew this going in, but sharing for anyone in research mode because there's limited reviews here about the Studio specifically. Breakfast came discreetly every morning at the time of my choosing, from a menu emailed the day prior, which was so fun, overwhelming in the best way. Blessed with an unobstructed view of the mountains all day and the stars at night with no light pollution, I could have spent the entire time in my room, but there was so much to experience around the resort grounds I enjoyed several spa treatments with the wonderful practitioner Andrea, peaceful and therapeutic services that were very fairly priced. The pools and hot tub were surrounded by countless places to relax by the water and enjoy the sun and views, with regular check-ins from the bar staff and so much space that it never felt crowded. Dinner every night was a treat- same table each dinner so I got to know my "neighbors" but felt a nice level of distance between tables so everyone could enjoy their own experience. I never made it to the light lunch service (either was too full from breakfast, or out exploring) but the cake service in the afternoon was so delightful. I would have been happy to relax the whole time on site but the San Luis staff helped with recommendations and logistics to get out and explore the surrounding area. Offered complimentary bus/train/museum pass in the region, as well as access to fabulous courtesy EVs - there's an app to navigate the public transportation schedules, but I would also suggest downloading the Tschogglberg app which outlines 5 adventure trails in the area (some paved, some with childrens activities, some full day advanced circuits) 2 of which (Haflinger and Knottnkino) you can start from the San Luis gates. Arrived a bit apprehensive that this wouldn't live up to the hype I had seen on their incredible IG account and all of these glowing reviews, but left an adoring devotee even more impressed and in awe of this special place, full of gratitude for the hospitality I experienced and already saving up to return someday soon.

An amazing experience overall. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. Service is impeccable, the design is outstanding, the food is superb, and the overall experience is one that can't be described in words or shared in photos. We left in awe of it all and would love to return. It was ultimate relaxation. My words escape me in trying to describe how much we love San Luis. For design lovers out there, it felt like you were staying in a Restoration Hardware hotel mixed with Jenni Kayne. Just STUNNING.

Amazing place… great food and amazing relax! This place is absolutely magical if you are looking to be left alone from all the external vibes. You get your house and just forget about the outside world. Only 2 small minuses : 1 some houses are far from the main restaurant / spa / lobby and pool area … so in the snow and cold freezing winter it could be inconvenient, specially if u need to change yourself every time you go out from and to the room to interact with the hotel facilities. Second minus, the housekeeping is not the best. All the rest is great, specially the architecture and nature.

We spent one week at San Luis. The previous trip was to Mandarin Oriental in Dubai, which was great but San Luis is at par but 1/3 of the price. Very spacious and luxurious rooms. Food was all-inclusive (breakfast and dinner) For lunch, they prepare a large salad bar, which they called a 'free snack bar' but, in reality, it serves as a full lunch. They had a great selection of local high-end wines and a knowledgeable sommelier. It was clean and all staff had a 'yes can do' attitude'. You noticed that the owner was present every day ensuring the highest standards. Unlike Mandarin Oriental, San Luis had a very high facilities-to-guests ratio. You never felt you were lying shoulder-to-shoulder with other guests (a lot of privacy). We will definitely return.

A wonderful hotel for a relaxing getaway or a base for alpine activities, like hiking, climbing, mountain hiking etc. The staff are lovely, everyone is so friendly and helpful. It advertises itself as half board but it’s what I would understand to be full board. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon cakes and dinner are all included. Extras from the bar need to be paid for. The food quality is good, sometimes excellent, especially for cakes and desserts. There’s a spa where I had a couple of massages to ease my aching body after a day hiking. Both massages were excellent, the following morning I woke up feeling great. The indoor and outdoor pools are good, and there’s lots of relaxing areas, as well as a couple of saunas and a steam room. The whole place is built for you to unwind. I had one of the small chalets and it was very comfortable, perfect for a solo traveller or a couple, even this small chalet had it’s own private sauna. There are cooking facilities, breakfast is delivered to you before you wake up, so if you want a cooked breakfast you request the ingredients and cook it yourself. The breakfast choice is huge, you will not be wanting for anything. The views are great on a clear day and even better if you hike the local trails. I fully intend to return to San Luis for more relaxation in the future.
