Great location and comfortable stay. Weather wasn't the best so it was great to come back at the end of the day to a warm place with a good bar/restraunt with ales on tap and a good selection of well cooked food. thanks A,T & M

Walked along to have dinner with the dogs, beautiful sunny afternoon. And only one outside table which was taken. Went to order drinks- only one member of staff who kept disappearing. No fruit or berry cider (our drink of choice). They service lunch 12.30 til 2pm and dinner from 6pm onwards. I was pretty surprised- 6pm, no wonder they were...

Super setting, our needs were listened to and appropriate rooms allocated. Service was great, food spectacular and given that it was a "special deal", there was evidence of smaller portions ... In fact the huge platefuls of langoustines, scallops and smoked haddock ensured we were extremely well fed! We will definitely be back. Information was freely given which helped us...

We had an evening meal here, and did not spend a night, so this review is only about the restaurant. I had the beef stroganoff, which was excellent, and Sarah had the scallops, which were also good. The hotel is on the Crinan Canal, and a nice walk from the Lochgilphead end of the canal along a newly-refurbished towpath. There...

This is only a 1 star review, because it is not possible to leave any less stars. My husband and his father booked via phone with credit card and arrived on Friday night just after 10pm, the hotel was locked up, lights were off and nobody was around. After repeatedly phoning the number on the door they had to give...

We had fairly enjoyable evening meal at the hotel but we very disappointed with the standard of accommodation and lack of customer service. We were allocated rooms 2- 4, which all smelt very strongly of damp and were not particularly clean. One rooms was missing lightbulbs and the heater wasn't working in another. When we raised concerns, we were told...

The hotel smells of mildew. The room looked clean, but there was water in the kettle which made me wonder how clean it really was. The front hotel host seemed abrupt, but nice. We can't get to our kettle without opening the curtains, which opens out into the parking lot (1st floor). Pros: very close to lochgilphead bath tub perfect...

My wife and I have just returned home from a two day break at the Cairnbaan. Our meals were superb - absolutely excellent. Dinner courses of Scallops and Black Pudding; Smoked Haddock, poached egg and cheese/cream sauce; Fish Pie and veg; Roasted Duck Breast etc etc etc all delightfully presented and the cooked Breakfasts tasty and plentiful. We cannot understand...

Booked in at the last minute to facilitate an easy journey on down to Tayvallich for the Jura passenger ferry the next morning (8 miles/15-20 mins drive). Staff were very helpful on the phone and on arrival advising of meal times if required. 2 cask ales on tap were in excellent condition and barman very knowledgeable. Room was a double...
