Wonderful place to bring the family, lovely staff and beautiful hotel, very clean and picturesque. A variety of Swahili dishes and different evening settings for meals. Time I visited end of August was ideal as found the hotel quiet and peaceful.
I and the wife stayed here after our Safari for 6 nights on our honeymoon. We've done a fair bit of travelling, and I have to say the quality of service at this place is second to none - every staff member was a joy to talk with, and they couldn't have done more to make us happy. I even asked if I could have a fresh coconut (not on the menu) and small-time later one of the groundskeeper/gardeners brought over a couple he'd fetched from one of the trees...something I wasn't charged for and went a long way in terms of going the extra mile. The rooms are very clean comfortable, but one thing I would say is if you're in the ground apartment and have a noisy family above you, you will hear them - not a big issue, but just something worth noting. We had a noisy family for around 3…
It’s a perfectly serviceable traditional hotel, good value for money, an older 4star small scale holiday hotel. It’s at the very end of the beach so it’s nice and secure but getting out and about takes a little longer Quiet and friendly, they do lay on some entertainment but make sure you take a book as well
We (family of 4 with 2 teens) stayed here for 8 nights, following a full-on 7 day safari. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind, and process everything we had just experienced. We stayed in 2 suites, there is an option to have a chef come and cook for you in your suite, but we preferred to join the main dinners. The theme nights on the beach and by the pool are lovely, and for all meals there is a good choice, with chefs very helpful and friendly. As a vegan, I struggled a bit sometimes to find the options, but the head chef was always happy to make something for me if there wasn’t anything suitable. ( the veggie options often contain milk) Breakfast at the outside tables is an experience, watching the beautiful weaver birds flitting around, dragonflies, and fish in the…
We have stayed here twice in 2018 and 2019 and we would not hesitate to book again! The hotel is idyllic. Excellent service. Beautiful rooms which are so well presented. Food is 5 star. The hotel sits on Galu Beach which when we stayed in April/June was near deserted and you could walk miles on clean white sands. The hotel has a lovely beach bar and sun lounge area. Breakfast is a delight with chirping weaver birds nesting adjacent to the breakfast room and the usual monkeys attempting (unsucessfully) to nab a treat! Highly recommended hotel which is very well managed and loved by the staff - we could not fault it.
