We were graciously invited to spend the day as guests of family staying at Mzima House and it was a breathtaking experience! The main house has a pool in the middle with en-suite luxury pads built around it, a patio that looks over the lawn and a clear view to the water about 50-60 meters away. We had lunch on the volleyball court right by the beach, and it was a healthy, and sumptuous meal: coconut rice and a coconut sauce; lobster, giant prawns, calamari and fish all grilled with garlic butter and fresh salad plate and burata....it was amazing!!!! The fish is fresh from the ocean every morning, you can taste it! We spent the most of the afternoon by the pool and had a room to change and rest in if we wanted. Finally, we got a couples soft tissue massage which was glorious and absolutely top notch, Zipporah and Gloria were amazing and so professional and personable. If you want a place with trappings of luxury and privacy from prying eyes you need to make a booking!!

This place has apartments, cottage and a house. I stayed at the house. Management was never around, the reception was always locked and inaccessible. The mattresses are sooo hard!! I did not sleep well at all. The shower heads were clogged due to the use of seawater, they need to be replaced. When booking, they say there is a safe, a blowdrier and WiFi. When I checked in, I had to ask for everything because all those things were not provided when I arrived. Even after leaving, there was still no WiFi. The swimming pool is beautiful but not cleaned daily. The food is literally non existent. The first day I arrived, I placed an order at 5pm, and got the food after 9pm. When I placed the order, I was told that half of the ingredients that made up my meal, were not available, and that they need to go to the supermarket to buy them. Drinks were also not available. The fruits served during breakfast were stale. The food was always basic and bland. When staying at the house, just make your own WiFi, Food and Entertainment arrangements.
