To start with, during check in, we waiting more than an hour for the room. There were people who came after and got the room before us. I understand you could have other guest in the allocated room but you need to respect your mentioned check in time and at least apologies after more than an hour of delay. When inquired to upgrade package one person said an amount, when agreed another person doubled the amount. Moving on to the room and heading for the pool I went to ask for beach towel and despite being given so late, they asked to come after 2 hours as no towels are available. After two hours still no beach towels. And had to use the room's bath towel. Still lost 4-5 hours for nothing. Not upgrading the package due to cheap communication at the beginning, I paid for my drinks and even tipped the bartenders, when asked about corkage, I was asked to pay while other people was allowed free of charge. Dinner and breakfast was average. But lunch, we were told that they will take orders from the table. After 30 mins, they showed up with plated food, rice chicken and some veggies, just putting it on the table without asking if you eat chicken or not, didn't even cared to ask about drinks, was just left with plate of food to choke on. I believe you have to be a 5 or a 1 star to have BASIC HOSPITALITY. Some people got dessert, but we were not served one despite being included in the package and had to leave without. I can conclude that LIGHTER SKIN is more privileged and the staffs are very RACIST. You are being seen and treated differently despite paying the SAME RATE. I strongly believe that management should feed basic hospitality to their staffs and there many small things that can be fixed to make guest's happy. I have been to many many many hotels around the island and even around the globe. I've been in the hospitality industry as well. And I know what I'm talking about. Other than this, the boat house lads were very kind and professional. Not a bad hotel, just some little details can make it far better. Thank you…
We stayed for 2 nights. It was our second visit we were allocated to a nice room as per our request. Restaurant service and boat house was great, Food was good, value for money. but lack of warm welcome at the reception upon check-in which is the first impression , reception lady not welcoming at all. We got an issue with our main door knob, we had to inform the reception at least three time to get it fixed. Otherwise everything was good.
Worst Accommodation Ever !!! Each year, for the Chinese New Year's Eve - it is a family ritual to go for a hotel overnight stay with the siblings. This year (2022), we selected the Cocotiers hotel and booked a total of 9 rooms on a Full Board basis. We visited a dozen of hotels across the island - we have always been happy and feel proud to have so many beautiful hotels in our small country. However, this one was the only DISGUSTING one we found, it was such a traumatic experience! For the first time, we were happy to leave a hotel. Poor Front Office Management Having booked 9 rooms, some of us got our rooms at 3 pm while some got it only around 5 pm. We paid for check-in at 3 pm ! As a reminder we booked 9 bedrooms and amont them : 4 had a small standard bed which looks like a single bed. Those tiny beds were planned for 3 persons (two adults and one child). Poor Housekeeping We had to share towels in between us. Yes in a Covid-19 crisis, this hotel has not been able to give all of us a towel. 2 rooms did not have towels to use! Poor maintenance We got two rooms in bad condition. The first one was the toilet which was not working. And the second one, there was a broken shower. The broken shower fell on one teenager during his bath and totally burns his back with hot water. The pool was filled with chlorine in the morning, only 3-4 hours before the swimming time. After leaving the pool, our clothes were dyed because of the excess of chlorine and bad timing for cleaning the pool. Two toddlers got skin issues afterward. EXTREMELY POOR F&B & KITCHEN TEAM!! Not to be biased, despite our bad experience across the first day - the dinner was very good. However, the lunch was the worst experience ever. We had only two options: Chop suey (Chicken) with rice or Fries (only) We were requested to choose wisely multiple times by the waiter. "What we wanted to eat..." since we could only select one of those two options. As we were a group, some of us were vegetarians (which was clearly mentioned in our booking) - hence those siblings were forced to eat fries only for a lunch at a hotel. We were not allowed to take the quantity of food we wanted to eat, the waiter gave a toddler-size meal to everyone, even the adults! When we asked for more food, the waiter mentioned "bisin atan tou dimoune manger, si rester ou pu kapav gagn ankor". Seriously, this is NOT a joke!! A few minutes later, some of our siblings who were not yet here arrived. When they came, they had NO food to eat. Yes, there was NO FOOD to eat. They had to wait 30 minutes to get the dishes and this time... They mixed up the fries and the chop suey together and the chicken meat was not even cooked properly... Yes again this is NOT a joke, it was a chop suey with FRIES and uncooked meat... Well well... Apart from the poor food which was given, we even got the privilege to be served by the rudest waiter, we ever met. The latter was insulting us each time we open our mouths with him, even while being kind in our requests. We managed to cool down as we were in a festive mood. However, while some of us were still eating: he came to pick up our plates while we were still eating, we even mentioned that we had not yet finished. His words were: "Alle geut chef la !" We obviously end up leaving the hotel to eat in a restaurant to get a proper lunch. Good size and cooked properly in a small snack nearby. Sarcastic HODs.. While checking out, we obviously left a very bad comment at the Front Office while checking out. One of the HODs called us to apologize and give us a discount for our next stay. The discount giving us 25% which looks good. But wait... The condition was to pay the price of FULL BOARD and get HALF BOARD only. In other words, giving us a 25% discount and skipping the lunch which is more/less the same value. Again and again and again, this is NOT a joke. To the management: If you can't work in the beautiful hospitality sector, CHANGE FIELD!! You are a shame for Mauritians. We are known for our legendary hospitality sector by guests from all around the island. Stop being a disgrace to our reputation!…
Worst hotel I've visited. Had wait 45 mins as our room was not ready. Check in time was 3 p.m. and we got our room at 3:45 p.m. That was just the beginning, In the room there was no water supply. My husband had to fetch bottle of water from the car for us to use the toilet. AND the hotel staff was rude, and very unprofessional, they said that they can't do anything about the water supply. Also there was a cockroach in the bathroom. Indeed, there's a reason why it's cheap. If I go through details it would be to much to tell. This 2* Hotel is just a waste of time and money!!!
