Situated on the beach, along the north west coast of Mauritius, Les Cocotiers is a human size hotel with a friendly atmosphere. Close to the capital Port-Louis and to several popular tourist spots, this 2 star Sup hotel is an excellent starting point for a business trip or a holiday as an individual, a couple or a family. The 48 rooms are simply decorated with 16 sea view and 32 garden view, air-conditioned and well-fitted. From the restaurant and bar overlooking the lagoon, guests can watch the comings and goings of the fishermen's pirogues, the beautiful sunsets as well as Port-Louis slowly lighting up at dusk. Hello Christina, first of all, thank you for deliberately tarnishing the reputation of our hotel on social media. Our reputation is important to us and our guests, but thankfully majority of our guests are satisfied with the services we provide for a 2* property. Given your very high expectations, it would be best to book 4 or 5 star properties than a 2*. Anyway, getting back to the core of the problem, your reservation from Booking.com was from 24 January to 07 February. As per our policy (also stated on Booking.com), we charge the full amount at least 14 days prior arrival. We followed the procedure and charged the full amount from your credit card. Thereafter, you did not like our hotel at all and everything was bad in your view, and it was then agreed with Booking.com that your reservation would be amended to a check-out on 29 January. Booking.com amended the booking amount to 347.75 Euro. We got the official confirmation from Booking.com on the 28 January. We cannot take on our own and proceed with any refund unless confirmed by Booking.com. Hence, we have to refund an amount of 625.95 Euro back to your credit card. Since the refund is to be done directly on your credit card, this has to be handled by our bank. Our request to refund back the amount of 625.95 Euro has been sent to our bank on 30 January 2019. You should count a minimum of 5 working days for the bank to process the same. Friday 01 Feb and 05 Feb are public holidays in Mauritius. The refund will be processed by the bank and it will take the necessary time. We could have very well maintain our full penalty fee as stated in our cancellation policy. It is up to us to decide whether to refund the guest or not, as clearly mentioned on Booking.com. Anyway, we are no thief or cheater as you publicly stated. Our potential guest will surely be intelligent enough to understand that your review was deliberately posted just to harm the reputation of our hotel. On this note, we do hope that you get your refund from our bank as soon as possible. We cannot impose on the bank to process your request more quickly but we will surely keep you updated once this has been done. Dear Nimothy, thank you for you review and for your rating. We are happy that overall you had a good time at our hotel and we will convey your message to Marie, our therapist for sure. Food: We actually have different themed-buffet everyday for dinner with a good variety of food. Our chef makes sure the buffet is copious and as per the clientele that we have at the hotel on that day. Location: We are located in Baie du Tombeau Village, which is only 10 minutes away by car from the capital city of Port Louis. There is a big shopping mall just 5 minutes away from the hotel. The public bus stops right in front of the hotel and our staff ensures to guide our clients whenever they wish to take the public transport. Otherwise, we do have taxis at the hotel but we cannot control the rates. Hotel: Unfortunately, being in a tropical country, mosquitoes, lizards and cockroaches are present. However, we do the necessary and regular treatment and pest control so that our guests are not disturbed. Fortunately, Mauritius does not have dangerous animals like snakes but we take good note of your recommendation of putting something at the bottom of the door to prevent these smalls insects from entering the room. Hi Rosemary, Thank you for your interest. The hotel does not have an excursion desk. If you book directly, you can contact the reception and they will organize upon your request. The surrounding is rather quiet. But you can travel to Port Louis, our capital and Grand-baie, a lively seaside town. It is at 10 minutes by car from the hotel. There is also a supermarket which is not too far from the hotel. The hotel does not have shared bathroom. All rooms have a private bathroom. Hoping to welcome you soon, Kind Regards, The Management
