The hotel is surrounded by eateries and shops, so it was no hardship that the hotel cafe is closed re Covid.
The hotel is oposite Redhill train station and has a nice public park across the road which I walked around.
The hotel is immaculately clean, hand sanitiser everywhere. The staff are masked and continually cleaning handles and public surfaces.
The room was sparkly clean, fresh air, a fan. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom had a lovely shower.
Hotel guests have free parking
I enjoyed my stay, it was comfortable, clean and reasonably priced.
All the staff I came across were cheerful, professional and helpful, good customer service is quite a rare beast but the staff and in particular Anita, great ambassadors for Travelodge.
The hotel itself is in an ideal location, with good restaurants, cafes and shops within walking distance and the room of a good standard with comfortable beds and a practical bathroom (and roomy shower cubicle). The underground car park and easy access to the lifts is a boon - far better than the Premier Inn in wet weather. What makes the Travelodge stand out for us is the friendly staff; from an efficient, cheery check-in to the housekeeping lady who went to a colleague's trolley to get us another hand towel when her own cart ran out, then carried two bags to the end of the corridor as we were leaving, we were made to feel remarkably welcome at a chain hotel. It'll certainly be our first option in future, and the price is attractive.
I would recommend bringing your own toiletries as the shower gel provided smells funny!
All the staff I met were very friendly.
Iron and ironing board are available from reception.
Nearby there is a Sainsburys, M&S Foodhall and a Macdonalds.
The train station is only a few minutes walk away and has good connections to LGW.
Overall a nice hotel - would stay again.
I stayed there a few times and staff is kind and helpful. It is not a luxury place but it is very central and has all you can need from a budget hotel in Central Redhill: clean room, comfy bed, kettle with tea and coffee, clean bathroom with bathtub, no noise or cold.
I really like that they have USB plug charger for recharging your phone and they are just above Sansbury, in case you need to buy something you forgot home.
Only minus: Wi-Fi is charged additionally (+£3 x 24 hours) , if you want more than the free 30 min.
We never tried breakfast there, first because of COVID (no service) and also because we like the pub downstairs, the Wetherspoon The Sun, who offer great breakfast up to 11:30AM.
The standard here for cleanliness and customer service is above and beyond. Every member of staff here is so pleasant and approachable. Ewa the manager is an absolute credit to the company, she’s so helpful and friendly. Check in and check out is always quick and easy, there is always someone at the reception desk if I ever need anything and nothing is ever too much trouble for either the reception desk staff or the housekeeping team. Thank you guys so much for always making my stay enjoyable!
Before arrival I received an e mail stating that there is no air conditioning in the rooms and outlining the steps they had taken to keep the rooms cool. I think this was excellent so I knew what to expect and what to take with me.
The location in Redhill town centre is great, close to a large supermarket, shops and taxis, pubs and takeaways. There is limited free car parking in the basement of the car park. Be careful which spaces you park on, blue is anytime, yellow is 4pm-10. am.
The reception area is on the top floor where there is also the restaurant with lovely views of the countryside. The receptionists, Eva and trainee Debs were so friendly and welcoming. I initially had a slight issue (not the fault of Travelodge) and it was rectified in five minutes.
We were there for a wedding but it was also my son’s birthday. At breakfast they brought out a cake and sang happy birthday. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff chatted with us the next day about the wedding and birthday celebrations.
It is well worth booking breakfast, the choice is very good for the price and the ambience there is lovely. The drink prices in the bar also are very competitive. Travelodge have definitely stepped up their game in this area.
Overall we had a fabulous stay, but the jewel in the crown at this particular Travelodge has to be the staff. I mentioned Eva and Debs but there were two other ladies whose names I didn't get who were equally helpful. Yes the rooms were a little warm, but we had a fan and I would not hesitate to stay here again when I am in this area.
