We stayed 5 weeks in the Fall at LaBatellerie in St Foy, the accommodations were exceptional. Coupled with all the acts of kindness showered upon us by Theeta and Eric, it was a perfect locale from which to tour. Bordeaux and St. Emilion. Then Auterre, Tremolat, Sarlat, Monpazier, Belves, Issiac, The Archachon and Sand Dunes, St Jean de Luz, Bayonne...

My wife booked this place and I thought it looked great, but I thought it was too good to be true. We loved it. And this is certainly somewhere that we would consider returning to. First of all, let me start with the two very minor negatives. One is that the WiFi does not work a lot of the time...

We chose to stay for a week in the cottage next to the Bed and Breakfast of the same name because the photographs on this website showed us that there was a beautiful garden with fine views. This is certainly the case, and if you like nature walks along the river then this is the place for you. We missed...

On an impulse, during a cycling camping tour of the Dordogne, I decided to forego the busy crowded campsite in town, and find a bed for the night. I wasn't disappointed. The B&B is so more up-market than the equivalent would be in the UK. A grand mid-18th century house overlooking the Dordogne river, and its subsidiary bridge. I was...

As former residents and vineyard owners nearby for many years, this was our first return to the area or opportunity to stay there. The owners have done a wonderful job in restoring the mansion in tasteful French mode-- furnishing the large high-ceiling rooms with antiques, but modernizing the bathrooms, and installing double pane windows. Downstairs, the grand piano in the...

We stayed in the self catering Gite in the gardens of the b&b, last June, and in summary we couldn't have made a better choice. We loved the character and quirkiness of the property, and the beautiful gardens and view across the river. This was our first trip abroad with our 6 month old, and Thida and Eric went out...

We had a 2 night stay on the way to a wedding. The building is like a miniature stately home on the banks of the river Dordogne. We stayed in the room with a balcony which was nice to sit on and enjoy a bottle of wine. The house itself has lots of antiques and the owners have worked very...

My sister and I stayed in The Gite adjacent to the hotel. Beautiful, spacious and very well equipped. We had our own garden area and enjoyed evening barbecues and warm sunshine with magnificent views. Our hosts Eric and Thida were friendly, very approachable and informative. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them. Located in the heart of the Dordorne makes...

We asked for a quiet room but the traffic noise from the road bridge adjacent to the hotel was a noisy distraction. Parking is around the back of the hotel and as our room was not in the main house it was a bit of an obstacle course to carry our luggage past the pool and through the house. Eric...

Beautiful rooms with a interior mix of modern design and antiques, a delicious organic breakfast and nice chats with our host Eric made our stay excellent even if the weather could have been better! A perfect spot for daytrips to wineyards.
