We camped at Kalizo lodge for one (rainy) night and were sorry to not have stayed any longer. Camped in absolute tranquility on the banks of the Zambezi river we enjoyed a spectacular sunset come and go as well as the electric storm approach from the distance. The ablution facilities are clean and perfectly adequate, service efficient and friendly -...

After an arduous 1400 km road trip our first reaction was WOW at the transformation Kalizo has gone through since our last trip 10 years ago. Clean, comfortable and mozzi free accommodation on the banks for the Zambezi were a real treat. Pure white sands and blue water together with the surrounding nature is the ideal tonic for any soul....

This was our base for three days of exploring the Zambezi birdlife along the river. Many come here for the excellent fishing, but we were drawn here by the largest breeding colony of Southern Carmine Bee-eaters. We were not disappointed. Early morning out in the colony, then back for a freshly cooked breakfast. Afternoon from 14:30 cruising on a boat...

We were fortunate enough to visit Kalizo Lodge for a third time and it still is one of the most magical places we have visited. The Zambezi river is not called the Mighty Zambezi for nothing. Johan, Cherie, Lara , Tony and Michelle, thank you once again for seeing to our every need. You guys are awesome!! The accommodation was...

It is difficult to find the right words to describe the service we have received at Kalizo Lodge. From Johan that had to come and tow us out of the sand on a Sunday afternoon with the biggest of smiles, to Michllle who is the most friendly receptionist we have met during our entire tour through Namibia, to the eccentric...

The camping grounds in Kalizo were nice but the ablutions are in need of some TLC. That said, the bar and dinning area and the surroundings were fantastic and so was the staff at Kalizo. They went out of their way to make everyone's stay happy and special, looked after tricky dietary requirements and helped us with travel arrangements into...

This is really more of a nice fishing camp in the remote area of the Caprivi on the Zambezi River. Facilities are basic but nice in a rustic way. Rooms are tents and are not air conditioned however the nights cooled off nicely at the time of our visit. Meals were very good. The owner/chef/host was most pleasant. The main...

Good value for money lodge will go back. On banks of Zambezi river with fishing and birding the main activities. Staff very friendly especially Jack. Room is a tent structure. Quick coffee and rusks early morning followed by brunch at 11:00 worked very well for our activities with children!

What a wonderful place. We stayed for 2 nights in family tent/chalet(zambezi)with our 2 toddlers. Rooms very neat and clean. Stunning setting on the zambezi river. Tony and Lara are exceptional hosts. Dining room has such a nice ambiance. Meals were delicious!! Hotel grounds are very well kept and neat. Quite a lot of mosquitos around, so be prepared with...

A fantastic setting on the Zambezi. Semi-luxury tents, a lovely bar area, good food, great hosts and magic bird life. Spent 4 nights there and could have stayed longer. Although the fishing was not as good as hoped for, I am sure that at times it will be very good.
