After a 1/2 hour drive on bush tracks, followed by a fascinating 1/4 ferry ride on the Kwando River, we found the low key Lodge on Mazambala Island a real delight. Known among local tribes as "Island of Abundance", the unspoiled beauty of this island teems with animal life & a profusion of bird life. The traditional thatched bungalows, with...

The place is in Kongola area, west of Katima Mulilo (110 km). Price for camping: 95 N$ /pp (we finally paid 85 N$). Lonely, rustic and basic. No electricity, tap water comes from the river. Quite expensive for the services. The location it´s 4 km west of Kongola on the B8, following the acess road for 2 km, on the...

We didn't have high expectations for this area, but we accidentally stumbled on to this lodge, which is not luxurious, but has a real African charm, very attentive management and a great kitchen. Although some writer's suggest that the lodge can only be reached by boat, this is not true - it is only about 5 km from the highway!...

During our Drive from Kazulunga to Rundu we found this lodge by chance- if we would have known about it before we would have stayed longer. Very nice owners and staff - excellent accommodation- delicious food. And a very special bush drive boat& bukki. Plenty of game. Always again!!

I am a tour guide since many years and know Mazambala Lodge from its beginning many years ago. For me it is the most beautiful Lodge in the Caprivi. It has lots of atmosphere in the african bush. It is situated beautiful under the old trees. The garden is beautiful. You wake up with lots of birds in the morning....

The lodge is close to the main road. Old trees provide shade to the whole compound, protecting from the burning sun. Boat trips and game drives to the attractive Horseshoe place are an exciting experience. All this for a fair price. But what makes the stay particularly enjoyable is that Fanie, the good soul of the house, really cares for...

We were very surprised when we drove with our car the sandy road to a small parking area in the bush. There a men told us to wait and then came a boat to pick us up. What an experience, just great. We were driven along the Kwando River to the Lodge. The rooms were very open but the winters...
