The agriturismo is nice, has a lovely pool, outdated but clean rooms and we had a delicious dinner however, I would not recommend it to friends for the abrupt, rude staff and their lack of flexibility/hospitality. For example, around 9:45 as we were finishing dinner, we were told we needed to finish up and leave the table ASAP as they needed to prepare for breakfast the next day, the same thing happened when the owner (I presume) interrupted our breakfast the next morning and informed us that it was time for us to checkout and leave Immediately. When we enquired about staying for lunch and perhaps using the pool for an hour after checkout they said absolutely not. We were also SCOLDED for not signing the Covid free form when it was never even given it to us in the first place. Just plain rude. It was apparent they could not care less about receiving our business in the future and it really put a damper on the birthday we were celebrating that weekend.

I found this place on the agriturismo website and all the reviews got me excited. So for our week in Tuscany I decided to book Il Glicine. What a marvellous place. Tranquil and quiet, relaxing and fun. We stayed in appartment nr 10: Davide. It had 2 bedrooms a bathroom and a livingroom/kitchen area. Very simply furnitured but what else would you want from a house that's from the 15th century. Barbara and her parents run the place efficiently and are so friendly. They always have time for questions. We were travelling with our 8 month old daughter and they really gave her so so much attention and love. And the food.....oh dear oh dear! I left and 3 of my trousers didn't fit me anymore. Need I say something else? This place is like a fairytale. We can't wait to come back.

We stayed here for two nights in April and would be happy to return. The apartment was ample and comfortable, and the radiators were thankfully generous as the nights were cold. The town of Pontremoli is unassuming, but friendly and possessed of an old world charm.

We arrived at Il Glicine e la Lanterna in the late evening and left early the next morning, but, fortunately we had the pleasure of having a traditional Italian dinner at ll Glicine e la Lanterna - it was FANTASTIC!

We loved it here. We stayed for 3 days, end of june. Great reception by Barbara, who speaks English. All there dinners we had were copious, very tasty and original. Graziella is a gifted cook. Her husband is an expert on mushrooms, which sometimes find their way in a dish. Even for Italian standards, which are normally high, this was one of the better agriturismos we have had dinner. We had a spacious family room. Decoration was simple, but fitting the old farm style athmosphere. Bathroom had all the necesseties. Everything very clean. The agriturismo itself is a beautiful old farmhouse. Check out the pictures at the website. They give a bood impression. It is not tol hard to find. Do follow the directions they give you at the website. Car navigation for some reason has trouble putting the address at the right place in the map. If you are looking for great food, hospitality with a sense of humour, and a quiet stay, this is the place. We will return for sure. Tom, The Netherlands

Wow , where to start ....Such a beautiful place .... Character and charm ... Historic .... Tranquil !!! My wife and I are touring small town Europe , and this was our eleventh stop in eight countries so far .... This place just blew us away . We managed to get an apartment suite with a loft bedroom for 3 nights .We are told that it was used to be the area for roasting chestnuts in days gone by . The suite was perfectly clean and had everything we needed to do what we call "Hotel Room Dining " this means going to the market to get some local breads , meats , cheeses , and veggies . But this time , when we were leaving to go to the market,Barbara told us that her mom had made some extra pesto sauce if we were hungry . Wow , so off to the market to get some pasta , parmesean cheese , a couple of sausages and a bottle of wine . We had a fantastic dinner on the terrace outside of our room . Thanks mom and Barbara !! That made our night . The following evening we asked to participate in a home cooked meal by Barbara and her mom . It would take too long or describe it , but with home grown vegetables and local products ..... It was fantastic ! When checking their web site , and seeing some of the pictures of when they restored it from the delapitated 15th century farm house to what it is now ... Wow ... Lots of hard work and love has gone into this place , it's easy to tell . And the hospitality from the owners , it's a place we would love to return to . They make you feel like family , even for us Canadians . And Barbara did excellent with English speaking to help us with any questions we had . Also , this is one of the few places that actually has screens on its windows . Well done !!!

The only bad thing about Il Glicine e la Laterna was that we could only stay one night! The character of the stone buildings, and the delightful owners, Barbara and her mother, Graziella made this place very special. Our room was large, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We opted for dinner when we arrived, and it was one of the best meals we had in Italy, filled with fresh produce, and topped by a wonderful dessert (Graziella outdid herself!). Breakfast was also very good. Both meals were served in a dining room with stone walls and vaulted ceilings - filled with character and charm. We were a little uneasy when we saw nearby train tracks, but barely heard the train at all. The grounds are lovely. Finding our way through Pontremoli was a bit of a challenge, but well worth it! Thank you, Barbara and Graziella!
