Stayed sat 11th November for 1 night as at wedding nearby. Arrived to find room and hotel dated and tired looking for £115 price tag. Room cold and enquired at reception to be told heating is broken but don't worry somebody coming to fix it. No apology from reception staff. Returned at 11.30 pm to find hotel cold and staff...

The Saracen's Head is located in the centre of Southwell. It is well placed to visit the Minster and the small town as well as the famous Workhouse, which is a short drive away. It has parking at the rear and has a quaint old world ambiance which is characterised in its decor and in the well trained staff team....

As a hotel, this has so much going for it. It is centrally located in a lovely market town, has plenty of character in the ancient building, the bar and restaurant, which is steeped in history - and in the owner! But it does need some tender, loving care in areas, most notably the central staircase up to the bedrooms,...

Nice old hotel. Stayed in Room 1 in the old part of the hotel. Large room with four poster and sitting area. Nice bathroom although would prefer a shower cubicle. Breakfast was fine and staff very friendly and helpful. Only gripe was lack of soundproofing from the traffic noise.

On arrival, we couldn't find how to access the car park and had to park up on the road side and walk to the hotel to ask. Turns out you have to go way past through the village, turn left down a single track road round the back, not good if there's something coming the other way. Could have done...

Just a couple of minutes walk from the historic Minster, this equally historic hotel is traditional and comfortable. Superb food, friendly service, great location, parking. A great place to stay in this very interesting town.

We stayed at The Saracens Head after dropping our daughter off at the local University. The lady on reception was so pleasent and helpful that immediatly we felt very welcome. The hotel has great character and the initial warm welcome was maintained by all the staff that we met. My daughter will be at Uni for 3 years so hopefully...

We were a party of 6 seeking a meal, prior to attending a concert in Southwell on Oct. 6th. The food did not arrive after a 1hr. wait and a senior member of staff was rude and dismissive of our complaint. She was observed to mimic and ridicule us. Ironically two younger members of staff were very professional, were apologetic...

A family funeral meant a journey to Southwell, we were recommended to stay at the Saracens Head and we weren't disappointed. Wonderful historic atmosphere, excellent well appointed rooms and very helpful staff. My daughter has strict dietary requirements and nothing was too much. Highly recommend
