Situated on the way to Rohtang La from Manali, its away from the market buzz. Surrounded by Apple Orchards, across the highway outside is the Beas. You can actually hear the Beas flow from your rooms. It was quite cheap for us three friends out backpacking. 600rs for a two room corner place. Very neat for the money. The staff was ok. Was not quite expecting much with the money we were paying. We had an argument with a rude staff and which got into a scuffle, but otherwise quite neat. The lights and sound from the highway across is a '-' ve, so are the travelling headlights that creep into your room through the gaps in the curtains. Food was nothing special. Overall an average expreince. Wouldn't have mind paying a couple of hundred rupees more for a cheerful place.

Small Basic Hotel. No Frills at all. Away from Market Buzz. Very easy to access to the famous Rohtang Pass from here.

Hotal Ekant is perched on the way to Rohtang. The musk and opus of the varigated glade of pine, deodars with refreshing air, resplendent with cool oxygen is the best part of its balcony. The woodden floor and the authentic and ethnic style to serve food , steaming hot receipes and local dishes adds charm to the visit. The rooms were small but cleanand cozy. Bathrooms ad the minimum required facility of hot water thru geyser and a nice small but cute facilities....just like snowwhite would hav efelt when she visited the dwarfs' house. The owner cum manager is more of a host than a hotelier and the way he tells you about the places and spots you "must see" is so Himachali-like... he guided us better than any guide would have. Parking facility was ample, under the array of trees wioth a barbed wire to fend off animals... no fear of thieves is there, but the animals might bang their heads into your vehicles. So the barbed wire ws there. Food was execellent.... simple, less spicy and above all served fresh. BUT only rice, vegetable, pulses with chapati were served... not much variety was available. Beds were small but comfortable. Linen was clean and the blankets were also covered with white sheets... to approve off of their cleanliness.... The hotel staff were quite polite and went out of teh way to help us and make us comfortable... They also offered to baby-sit our kid aged 8 at the time of visit. And yak ride was almost free as compared to teh rates charged by people at Manali or Rohtang.

We were two couples theres & spend our precious honeymoon time on Dec 2008 in this hotel. The best deal was the delicious FOOD & Service offered by the Hotel Staff on time. One cannot miss once home food here. The food quality was excellent. The cordial behavior of the Manager & other staff is a bonus. The manager also arrange a taxi for us on two days for local visiting & sloang valley. The Hot Water facility, Cable TV, Well Decorated room are the specialty's of the hotel. Overall it was the good experience. [--]
