Detailed Reviews
Friendly local pub with a good selection of ales and good food. We visited when they were hosting a Sri Lankan pop up evening, staff were informative and welcoming and the food was delicious. A great spot.

Had an overnight stay in the lovely B&B - there are a few rooms available
We opted for dining there and were not disappointed enjoyed the lovely fish pie and Chicken Kiev both very tasty and the plates left empty.
Staff attentive and pleasant
Free parking and Wifi
Will stay again when in the area.

Called into the Hog for an off the cuff Sunday lunch and had forgotten how good it is! I don’t eat meat so whilst my husband can be easily pleased going out for a Sunday lunch as long as they serve a decent roast I can struggle with the choices on offer. However at the Hog there were several options and I plumped for a smoked haddock and creamy leek starter with sour dough bread which was scrummy followed by roast hake with dauphinois potato, roast beetroot, samphire, capers and greens which was divine! Husband didn’t chat much whilst devouring his courgette and wild garlic soup followed by roast beef and all the trimmings which is always a sign he’s loving it and he reinforced this by declaring it perfect! Well worth a visit and hope not to leave it so long for the next one.
