We had yet another wonderful stay at Hotel Da Carlos. Carlota and Eduardo are very welcoming and always greeted us with big smiles. The rooms are very clean (and COVID-friendly: hand sanitizers and gloves everywhere etc.), have AC (a blessing during the warm summer months), a large desk, and a fridge. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are spacious, and there is plenty of closet space (and a safe). The internet is fast and the hotel has good cell service. Many parking places. The breakfast is great, lots of choices (sweet and savoury) and the coffee is amazing. The hotel is calm, charming, and well located. It is a perfect place to stay to visit Lucca, Pisa, or Tuscany in general. Thank you again for your hospitality. I recommend this hotel 1000%.
The hotel is conveniently located between Lucca and Pisa. The staff is fantastic, very friendly with amazing service. The breakfast was great, even on the day when we were the only guests! The room was clean, spacious and also had a big bathroom. The room had a very large balcony. There was free parking available right in front of hotel or in the back. We also tried the hotel restaurant, it was a very good seafood restaurant with reasonable prices.
We stayed here for 1 night and staff was so affectionate and caring that my family was happy . They take personal care for each and every small detail ... They literally won my heart and if we come here again this will the place we will come to . View is beautiful , and surrounded by Beautiful mountains . And they have parking as well.
We arrived there around 11am and surprisingly they accept us and while we're waiting for our room to be cleaned - they ordered us coffee for free. Nice gesture! Hotel's location is very good as it was in the middle of Lucca and Pisa. They also have the restaurant that serves very good seafoods and steak! Magnifico👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
We spent one night in a "standard double" room which was simply furnished with a wardrobe, small safe, small luggage rack, and extended desk with fridge and TV. The bathroom was small but well heated and the shower water was good and hot. Amenities included four small soaps and shampoos. The heater in the room took some time to warm up. We were in the back of the hotel and the room was very quiet. In season, rooms facing the street might be noisy. Wifi was good. Breakfast was small but adequate for our needs -- coffee, juice, cheese bread, prosciutto, and sweets. We liked the location between Pisa and Lucca as we wanted to visit both cities but not stay inside either. We had a delicious dinner at the restaurant that evening and were glad we made a reservation! Understandably very popular with locals and it filled up fast. We would definitely stay here again.…
We had no plans for this area during our current visit to Italy. However, we had to pass by here for one night at least to visit this wonderful family again and to taste their delicious food in that charming restaurant/hotel. Thank you Carlota for the gift (fine wine bottle). Yet we didn't take it as we don't drink, it means a lot to us and we appreciate it. Thank you Graziano for being so nice and for showing our kid the small fish lake nearby. Thanks Monica, Gabriel, and all other staff...
Nice, quaint hotel located between Pisa and Lucca. Family owned friendly and very clean. The breakfast was very good with more than adequate choices. A most enjoyable 2 night stay. I would recommend this hotel.
Picked hotel for location to Lucca and reviews. The hotels was excellent and the staff very friendly. Check in was pick which room you like and let us know. This is a really nice local area restaurant as well and I highly recommend it instead of wandering around looking. Restaurant was filled with locals which is always a good sign. Rooms are large, clean and air conditioned. Breakfast was typical and more than adequate. Very enjoyable stay, so we extended another day.
If you rent car this is a great little hotel with the perfect location. Situated about 10 minutes from either Lucca or Pisa visiting both is a pleasure and allows you to leave the tourists behind at the end of the day. Pleasant knowledgeable staff, clean quiet comfortable rooms and reasonable prices. Breakfast enjoyed by all!!
This hotel was by far...the least expensive of all in our 2 week stay in Italy. We had three rooms for one night with breakfast included. We drove from Bologna to here in the early morning. Dropped our luggage freshened up, and visited both Lucca and Pisa (about a 20 minute drive to either). Returned back at the hotel around 9PM order wine and Dolce just as the restaurant was closing...all was good. The breakfast was fantastic. The pastries were made by the owner/chef that morning (still warm). The hotel is family owned...the family works at the hotel in each capacity. All were warm, friendly and willing to share stories. We had better feel for the "location" because of staying here. The food from the restaurant was high quality. The rooms were clean and well maintained, but from an "earlier" time. My wife appreciated the room features that include high ceilings, windows that open, and a hard wood floor.…
