We booked this hotel through Booking.Com as we where spending a few days in the area visiting the Safari parks. Upon arrival, we checked in and shown to our room. Wow, the obviously did not read the booking as we are Mr & Mrs Ball and not Harry Potter. The room was so small it should have had a single...

....this meal bucked the trend. Perfectly good roast lunch with excellent service ( friendly without being obsequious) and very pleasant environment. Acceptably priced. God for families or groups of friends No complaints.

What a wonderful find. This is a recently refurbished pub. Food is totally amazing. Service is very good. It is quite expensive but well worth it. Rooms look wonderful. Next time we will book a room and stay overnight.

We took advantage of the midweek dinner bed and breakfast offer to celebrate my partner's birthday. The welcome was friendly and we were able to check in a bit early which gave us time to wander around the village which is very picturesque . We had a few drinks in the bar - great ale and lovely Kir Royal before...

My wife and I enjoyed an overnight stay at The Dog a few years ago. We were aware that since our stay there were new owners and the place had been refurbished so we were keen to see what it was like. We booked Sunday lunch for 3 of us yesterday afternoon. As soon as we walked through the door...

OK we should have made a second visit MUCH sooner. What a difference a new owner has made. Even the smaller corners were pretty light and airy and our table was large enough for all the glasses, bottles and paraphernalia. The food was very good. The Viognier could have arrived cooler but the decanted Medoc was just right. Fishy starters...

Booked Saturday lunch with friends and we were all absolutely delighted with our visit. The conservatory is great on a sunny afternoon. The lunch menu suited us well and highlights included the slow cooked mackerel, moroccan spiced lamb and the fish pie which, unlike so many other places, actually contained lots of tasty fish. The price of £15 for two...

After a wander around Richborough Roman Fort, The Dog proved to be a welcome spot to stop for lunch. We were warmly welcomed by the staff, who were happy to offer food options that weren't on the menu (which made my fussy veggie wife very happy). The mackerel starter and cod main were cooked beautifully and I was met with...

The Dog has a very modern interior considering its Tudor styling. I attended with my Dining Club colleagues on a Thursday evening and had a thoroughly enjoyable time sampling the varied menu. I had artichoke soup with a hens egg floating in it 😀 starter and a mushroom stuffed pasta main. My friends all said they enjoyed their selections too...

Booked a night here on Travel Zoo. Beautiful pub in a lovely little village. Our room was on the small side but beautifully refurbished, clean tidy and with lovely bedding. The bar was friendly and there is a lovely menu. Food was gorgeous but the drinks are a bit pricey. Had a lovely night, and my brother and his wife...
