We stayed at the nearby Old Butchers B&B and enjoyed two evening meals at the Red Lion. They were good value for money with creative touches above your average pub grub style enhanced by well priced, well served beer and wine. The main bar is part of the former local court house with a log fire, extensive book shelves and...

We have stayed at the Red Lion and eaten in the restaurant many times over the past nine months. It now feels like our local. The staff and owners are so helpful and friendly, and the food is great. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever. The inn is 'quirky' and many of the features are original. Books to look at on every...

We've stayed at this old inn several times - on one occasion taking a party with us for a celebration - and have been most impressed by the food and hospitality. Yes, the noise comes up through the old floorboards into the bedrooms. But this is a pub that has stayed a lively "local" and not let the catering take...

Spent another wonderful night at the Red Lion. The second time this year and full of beautiful character, warmth and hospitality. The staff cannot do enough for you and food was great. Took the inlays for their Christmas break and they could not be happier. A real little gem and we will be back.

Thank Tom N

“Room 2 is an amazing room but a bit noisy.”

“All of rooms were beautiful and spacious. Room two is huge and absolutely charming. My only tip would be to keep the windows closed at night - the pigeons roosted on the open window and sounded as though they were trying to break into our room in the early hours!”
