Such an amazing place and welcoming staff! The views are simply breathtaking with Mt Fuji in the background, the hills around and the green lake water. The hotel staff will do everything to make sure you have a good time, from taking your picture, showing you what's around, serving you treats to telling them about themselves and asking about you. They might struggle a bit with English but they are trying their best. The downside to this area might be the restaurant opening hours, closing already around 5-6 pm, although the hotel also has a variety of snacks available at the lobby desk during manned hours. Make sure you visit the outdoor spa pool (separate men/women), the roof terrace, and go hiking up to the Panorama view nearby.

Wow what a place! Both my friend and I stayed here for only 1 night (wishing it was more) and everything from the views of the hotel, the staff who were super friendly and even the owner Kobayashi who greeted us and thanked us himself was very friendly to us.

I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to see Mount Fuji up close and for a very reasonable price too!

Stayed for a night and it was much better than expected ❤️ Great value for the amazing experience. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room condition was a nostalgic traditional Japanese interior. Not to mention, the view of Mount Fuji with lake Shoji beneath welcomes you upon entrance. If you are looking for a simple, quiet, and organic experience, you’ll love it here ❤️

A beautiful fully scenic hotel with a gorgeous view of Mount Fuji. Simply breathtaking! It may be an old hotel but everything works well and convenient. Hoteliers are above and beyond service expectations. Can’t get better service than this! My best experience so far on my holidays.😍

We were very, very fortunate. We had clear views of Mt Fuji for the 3 days we were there. And one evening during dinner, we witnessed a really special fiery cloud cap on the peak. Even the wait staff said it was so rare! I felt that God came down and met with us in Japan...especially as we were there for a church retreat :)
Best part of the hotel: Breathtaking view of Mt Fuji almost every day
Worst part: Everything is ancient, tired, stained, in need of repairs, 70s feel furniture and furnishings. Futons and pillows were so stained they were scary. No lifts at all!
Food: Very traditional full-course Japanese meals that were well-prepared and very substantial. After the 1st meal, I stopped eating the rice just to finish the rest of the dishes. Quite delicious.
Wait Staff: Mostly cute old ladies who only spoke Japanese. Super efficient service.
Venue: In front of gorgeous Lake Shoji which has a host of water sports and camping grounds. The natural surrounding is just breathtaking.
There were a few types of cherry blossom trees dotting the landscape - white, pink, deep pink, single and multiple petals. I was so so glad to be able to see them at this off season.
Transport: You need a car at least. No public transport. Every day we were bused to our convention venue (15min without traffic) and it was usually a 30 to 40 min ride because of the number of cars all going the same windy mountain road.

Nice view of Mt Fuji with Lake Shoji from all rooms
Free and nice onsen which we used for 2 nites. Very relaxing.
Host and owner of the hotel is very accommodating and friendly. He even took pics of us with Mt Fuji at the background as soon as we arrived.
Toilet and shower are private and not shared or public.
Nice japanese style room with tatami.
They provide japanese bath robe or Yutaka for free.
Not so many resto or stores nearby. Nearest resto which-is a 10 min walk closes at 5 pm. !Better to take dinner or buy from convenience stores before returning.
Would go back again.
