We loved this cave hotel, tucked away in the Cappadocia area. Although listed as a four star, in my opinion it was a five star... The weather was cold but our room (a two room suite, #31) was warm and cozy. We stayed two nights and also ate at the restaurant, which is the only choice unless you want to...

This is probably the nicest place I've ever stayed. Each cave room is individually decorated and furnished with impeccable care. The lighting is just beautiful. The hotel is full of interesting nooks and crannies and set in a very authentic little village. Breakfast was wonderful and dinner was delicious, served in the cosy restaurant. The staff were great and really...

We stayed at the Gamirasu Cave Hotel for 3 nights in October. This was an authentic cave hotel, not just a facade. Hotel staff was delightful and accommodating. We had a delightful time. It is a little out of the way, so you will need a car or guide to transport you to the sights. In our party, there was...

This hotel was an incredible experience. Set in a former monastery in Cappadoccia, it is beautifully decorated and a great blend of history and creature comforts. The suite my husband and I stayed in was well appointed and the service was impeccable! The hostess was extremely helpful and she and her staff genuinely wanted to make our experience there a...

can't say enough about this lovely boutique hotel in the Cappodocia region. The staff was absolutely fabulous and so helpful. The hotel room was pretty cool and spacious for our needs. The drive from the airport was a little long, but well worth the wait. The restaurant had excellent food, everything was fresh and freshly made. My husband enjoyed his...

I really don't know where to start- when we arrived from Kayseri airport we where welcomed by the staff inside and where taken to our room after a welcome drink. We stayed in the cave room ( pigeon room). It was clean and well equipped with toiletries, kettle, tea, coffee, tv and iron box. The owner and the staff will...

This is an incredible hotel. I don't give an easy "Excellent: to a hotel, but "Excellent" is not enough for this hotel. You could visit Cappadocia just to see this hotel. After a day of site seeing of cave living of ancients, what makes it even better than to live for a night or two in a cave like theirs,...

There are a million (give or take) cave hotels in various parts of Cappadocia, Turkey. Most of them look claustrophobic and bare. This one is exceptional. The rooms (only 21) are spacious and well decorated. The staff, starting from Ms. Hamide DEMIRAL are fantastic, helpful, gracious and will do anything needed to make you comfortable. Prices rare reasonable, even in...

After the density of Istanbul, we came to Cappadocia and stayed in the cave hotel. The room was lovely, the staff helpful and we felt transported.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Gamirasu is the name of an exquisitely restored 35 rooms troglodyte cave house opened in 1998, in Ayvali Village near Urgup in the heart of Cappadocia, Turkey. The hotel is located in a restored thousand-year-old Byzantine monastic retreat which offers modern conveniences without distracting from the spiritual feeling of the area which has been known to be inhabited for more than five thousand years. Gamirasu cave Hotel is featured in major international travel guides as one of the best cave hotels of Cappadocia. Recently Business Insider choose '' 50 incredible hotels you should sleep in during your lifetime '' It is also mentioned as a romantic escape for honeymoons in wedding magazines. A 12th century Byzantine Christian church forms part of the Gamirasu, and until recently, part of the hotel was still used by Christian monks. Much care has been taken to blend the historic facades with the natural curves of the Cappadocian landscape to preserve its traditional style and appearance whilst providing you with the utmost in modern conveniences. The finish is stylish and the atmosphere inviting and romantic. Indeed, it is the perfect honeymoon destination, with many couples choosing the intimate cave suites for access to some of the most breathtaking and unforgettable scenery in the world. The sense of tranquility and authentic village atmosphere around the Gamirasu is instantly soothing, with nothing to disturb you but the sound of birds and sumptuous aromas drifting across the warm air from the old Monastic kitchen. Breakfast consists of all local and organically grown produce, including freshly baked bread, clotted cream, honeycomb and fresh fruit. A 7km hiking trail departs from the front door of the hotel and follows a remote valley with a beautiful brook flowing down the middle. In every direction, you are surrounded by breathtaking views, extraordinary natural shapes and a myriad of cave-dwellings to explore.
