Visited here recently with my parents and kids. We had a non refundable booking for 2 nights. But the property was so bad that we decided to come back the very next day. They are charging 5 star hotel rates and providing sub standard service. The rooms are so dingy and uncomfortable. In all the villas there is just one bathroom upstairs. My father is a COPD patient and it was really difficult for him to climb up the stairs each time he wanted to use the washroom. Overall food, service, property was much below we expected, considering the amount they charged. Not worth going at all.

It looks good from outside, but rooms are pretty drab. And if you are offered rooms in Sundarawasala, avoid like plague...they are extremely uncomfortable with 0 ventilation. There is a swimming pool which is like a canal in between rooms. And the rooms are so dysfunctional, they will give a ghetto a run for money. Pedestrian choice of upholstery, dirt everywhere, no bathrooms in ground floor, and pebbly, muddy walkways! Gawd, I did not want such a rural feeling for an exorbitant price. Breakfast buffet is the only consolation, but the early bird will get the worm, because they will lay the food in broad daylight, out in the warm sun...and the food goes stale before you blink! Phew!

It is a nice location for relaxation, on the bank of river Ganges, one can simply stay in the room and watch the beautiful river else you can roam around the property, The food quality is also very good , staff are very cautious, and the swimming pool is nicely located . One thing is the property is a little bit overpriced .

Exceptional view of the Hooghly River from Ganga Kutir rooms. The rooms felt a bit costly. Nevertheless exceptional experience... Definitely a must go.. Only drawback is in room service where food option is limited. Not all staffs are well trained as per hotel standards.

The river view is beautiful and the rooms were also very nice. The food at both Reflections and Ganga Kutir was amazing, and the restaurant staff was extremely courteous. However, the reception staff was not that polite. Additionally, the drive to the resort was quite unpleasant and tedious as google showed the wrong route. Unfortunately, the Bengali restaurant, Sonar Tori was closed during our visit. During my visit, the resort provided the buggy ride to the Ffort only once and refused to provide it twice which was quite disakppointing. Overall, it was a satisfying weekend getaway, far from the hustle of the city

Ganga Kutir is a good property but it is overpriced, and lacks adequate maintenance. As they do not have much competition, they have slipped into complacency and are leaving many details unattended. A room where we stayed was costing close to 20000 INR per night (with only breakfast included), had spiderwebs in it. Flower vase had ketchup on it, bathroom fittings were ancient and not well ventilated. Building itself has several damp marks in it, wooden railings, lattice windows or French windows has cracks in them reflecting poor maintenance. The girl at the reception was not polite and needs to visit a good hotel to learn what hospitality is. The gardens are not private for residents, anyone staying in the entire Ffort Raichak can come in and hamper your privacy. The security was not ready to even listen to the problem that we were facing. The pool bathroom is with broken shower and faucet arrangements. The restaurant staff are decent and tried their best to serve as needed. The management should look into these issues and may investigate further for improvements. I have not and will not advise anyone to waste their money in this establishment.

normally i would have rated it 3* given its current condition, but i am taking off a star firstly due to my experience during my last stay and secondly at the complete lack of response on reporting it (18 days have elapsed since i reported) my experience as detailed & reported to the email Id provided at group level: "HI, We as part of 2 families spent a night at the Ganga Kutir property last weekend, i.e. 18th September' 2021. The reservation was in the name of my friend Dipanker Das (booking Id: 579966257). We had an untoward incident on the day of checkout i.e. 19th September' 2021. The axle of sliding door in the restroom gave way and the entire door came crashing on me. I had glass chips all over my body. But the more worrying part was that my Daughter was about to leave the restroom post taking Her bath. i cannot imagine the consequences had it had an impact on Her. What i cannot imagine are the below: 1. why this complete lack of maintenance in a top 5 star property? i mention this as the sliding door in my friends restroom had similar issues, fortunately it didnt give way during our stay. 2. the lack of medical facility in such a remote but again 5 star property is alarming since i was provided with only some cotton and dettol post the incident. had my wounds been dangerous, i would have bled to a serious condition. we are reporting so that this situation can be avoided in future where the results could be more dangerous if not fatal for a family who may not be as fortunate as us. kindly take cognizance of this incident to avoid such situations in the future. this is the bare minimum we can expect from a standard institution like yours. pls take a look at the attached snaps for reference. pls feel free to reach me for any further queries in this regard."

Just returned from this staycation with my family. It was a first get away for my family after more than a year of this pandemic. We had booked the Presidential Suite due to the non availability of the other rooms and hence the built up of expectations were high. Overall it was good but the delight factor was missing and borderline disappointing. 1. Check In required us to give the ID proofs and Vaccination certificate sent by either mail or Whatsapp. My suggestion please mention the requirement of the certificate and collect it prior to make the process smooth. Luckily we had the digiital copies but it could be a simple verification process if we had done it prior to our arrival there. 2. Since again high expectation especially it was a Suite. But greatly disappointing. It had a beautiful view and balcony. But inside the room no mention of which were the numbers to dial for different service. 3. Meagre supplies. It was a 3 adult booking but the no cutlery for tea/coffee. No refreshments in the room. If its a pandemic change then why keep loose chakna mixture in jars? Thats not hygienic at all. My advice please keep sealed packets of chips, biscuits which are standard for any property. 4. No option for mini bar. The empty fridge looked very lonely. 5. A beautiful big bathroom, almost as big as the room and a dream come true. With 2 wash basins but irony, just 1 soap bar, 1 shampoo, 1 lotion, you get the drift. Truly sharing is caring. 6. In our 2 night stay no house keeping to refill the basic necessities like water even filtered water. We had to call every time and it was delivered with just enough but my advice at the cost a proactive service is expected. All the above points might be trivial but that is what makes a stay memorable and hospitality business it cannot be ignored. But huge shoutout to all the dining staff. Great service and quality of food. They compensated for a lot of things. Overall a good experience but far from being great and if I compare it to the star expense and hospitality a long long way to go. Also the entire property is not at all accessible with the suite at the top of 3 flight of stairs which might have come with a fair warning for aged people. There are no alternative routes so a strict NO for challenged accessible people.

The only thing good about this place is the location..the rooms serves wonderful view of the river. The cottages were built with good architectural elements..the rooms are spacious and offers an excellent view of the beautiful surroundings. But all these good features gets dull when we see the overtly poor maintenance..the place was dirty, there were damps on the rooms with mosquitoes around. We stayed at mahawasla..which is considered one of the best cottages to stay..but was very dissapointed with the unkept condition. I guess they use the local people for the cleaning instead of hiring professional services..which they shud considering the rates they charge Of the stay. Even the room service did not even cared to pick up our dirty plates for whole night and till afternoon. Overall the food at the restaurant was good..and must try for everyone.
