Stayed in H81, H91 & H92 Ffort Suites. The food was arranged at the restaurant for Ffort Suites. Since the property is within Ffort Radissons, we are allowed to visit Ganga Kutir/Ffort Radissons also. Food could be ordered at room also. Parking area was also there near our Rooms. There was a kids play area, but it was dirty. There was a single washroom in the room, with two doors. Overall rooms were good, specially the living room.
I went to celebrate my birthday with my better half at Raichak on Ganges, the Ffort. I was greeted at the reception with an unwelcoming receptionist Sayanti. . I was in good spirits, so I greeted her, to which she did not care to respond. The room was good with a back door opening in the garden. The food spread was good but the buffet got over in minutes and we had to wait for more than 15 minutes for it to be refilled. Finally, many did not get all the food served in the buffet. Only good about it was that the serving person (don’t like calling waiter) Alok, made up by serving us efficiently. The next day we paid up the dues , again at the non smiling, non greeting persons at the reception and took off. After reaching halfway to Kolkata, around an hour later, we got a call from the reception that today is our checkout and our bill is ready. We told them that we have paid and have checked out more than an hour before. They apologised for this. To sum up, a good property is being mismanaged and it will spoil half your mood. If it is managed properly then it will be a memorable stay.…
I had this trip for 1 night (14-15th APR). Stayed in Ganga Kutir. Good experience & ambience especially view of Ganges. What was horrible that is buffet dinner exp in the Restaurant 'Reflections' at ffort Raichak.. (1) Significant rush because of Paila Baisakh (2) Less no staff..they are struggling & trying hard...no complain against them rather hotel should appoint more staff. (3) Food quality extremely down/tasteless/too spicy & hot for kids..except one or two items most of the menus were not up to the mark (4) Dinner time 7:30-10:30, reached at 9:00 pm, most of the items were finished and took very long time for re-fill.. Overall quality , menu & services do not worth of approx Rs 1200/buffet (including tax)
This is 5th time i am being here in ffort and very sad to say service and wialoty of food has drasticaly detoriated. it used to be a start catagory fooding. I still remeber those old days and i feel so bad now. anyone shoulnd’t come here and not a value for money deal at all
very disappointed in the upkeep of the rooms. Maintenance is very poor. Rooms need immediate attention. Food was great but very sad to have few menu options for Ala Carte. Need to have more staff for the play areas and restaurant.
I was planning to visit Raichak on Ganges with my family in Dec 2021. Due to the rising Covid cases, I decided to cancel the trip. As per the cancellation policies set up by their management I cancelled this trip 17 days before the day of check in with an understanding that 100% of the money will be refunded. It’s been more than 20 days till now and I am still following up with them to get my refund back. Everytime I give a call they say they are working with the accounts team assuring me that I will get the refund back however nothing happens after that. They have stopped replying to my emails which is extremely unprofessional. So as an advise pls be careful if you book with them.By any chance if you have to cancel the trip , you may end up losing your money or may have to rigorously follow up to get back your money.Such unprofessional behaviour not expected from a reputed brand like Ambuja.…
Legend has it that the fort was built by a British commander, General Reginald Watson, to keep a watch over the river traffic and keep the pirates at bay. The general lived here with his family and there is a fable to go along..... The ruins of the original fort was re-discovered in the 1990s and turned into a luxury hotel and has been that ever since....albeit with quite some reflection of the 90's era as far as the furnishings go. The interiors and the grounds are well curated and maintained, especially the lounge area, the old bar cum library room and the rooms in the tower (601 & 701)....they offer an amazing view of the horizon. The standard river and garden view rooms are quite that....standard...with clean, well kept rooms but dated furniture and fittings, reminiscent of the luxuries of early 2000s. The river view room's balcony/terrace gives a fairly good but distant view of the Hoogly. However, it did give a nice feeling to have the morning tea or evening wine sitting there and gazing at the river and landscaped grounds. The staff appeared to be pretty cordial, courteous and efficient, barring some at the reception.....(the check-in and check-out could be smoother). The food at the only operational restaurant, Reflection, was pretty decent with a fairly good spread. Some improvement points could be furniture/fixture upgrade, inclusion of a shower cubicle instead of a bathtub or in addition to the tub (and ensure that the tub is not cracked). Overall - not too bad of a few lazy days' stay, but I'd prefer the rooms to be either a bit more contemporary in terms of the luxuries or be more of the rustic-exotic décor to give the feel of the original fort.....especially so given the price point at which the stay comes.…
A starred property excluding basic hospitality worthy of its stature or cost. Rooms with peeling walls, snail paced room service, non responsive phone lines, uninformed waiters, missing bell boys at the car lobby are some that differentiates this property from others charging over INR 17k for a night on Christmas. Saving grace was the christmas gala dinner and buffet breakfast. These were pleasant surprises when one is overwhelmed with unpleasant ones throughout the rest of the day. By the way I could feel the springs on the king bed mattress! Be demanding and don’t compromise on service trying to be kind. Ask for your right, and there is a slight chance you may get it.
Mentioning the pros and cons; First the cons: 1. Lady at the front desk (this was December 19, 2021 at 12:05PM) was extremely unprofessional and rude. Despite seeing old guests who can barely manage to walk her attitude was - if they are here let them be here and wait, can't check them in. I repeat extremely unprofessional. 2. Room was not done to satisfaction. Had to call housekeeping and get the room mopped and cleaned again. 3. The property does not enforce mask in common places, though signs are put up but guests don't follow and neither does the management enforce any thing. 4. They claim all guests are double vaccinated, nothing is being checked and also management needs to know double vaccinated people too get COVID and can be carriers. Pros: 1. Other at the front desk were very nice and helpful 2. Room service was prompt and nice. People were cordial. 3. Property is nice and beautiful 4. Good place to visit for relaxation…
Stayed in 1 BR Apartment in Ffort Suites from 18/12/2021 for 1 night. Swimming pool closed. Kids game zone had all non-working games. No one at boating point to provide the boat. Footloose lounge has dance floor but no dj or loud music or dance. Room was good but pillows provided were very thick . On asking for replacement, it was told that they don't have thin pillows. This was really uncomfortable. All meals were buffet with good spread. In all, good stay but no activities to do.
