#10 of 119 hotels in Digha
Hotel Sea Hawk was first conceived in 1974, then the first hotel of its kind in West Bengal. The continuing vision, which still holds strong, is to treat guests to a cozy, relaxing environment to soothe the mind and rejuvenate the senses. We have spacious lobbies and rooms to reflect the vastness of the sea we overlook, and our reputation for hospitality has been strong for more than 4 decades, and counting!

Sea Hawk is perhaps the best-known hotel in Digha. Families have been staying there over generations. This was my second stay there. I booked a sea-facing AC room (No. 284) more than a month in advance. The tariff was Rs. 2,500 per day with a GST of 18%, amounting to a total of Rs. 2950 per day. I am a fairly well-traveled person and according to me, this tariff bracket should offer these basic facilities: a) a clean, dust-free room, clean bedsheets, b) a geyser in the bathroom, c) a clean balcony which is supposed to face the sea, d) a clean, well-lit lobby and staircase landing, and last but not the least, e) well-mannered service staff. The hotel lacked in everything. Furniture in the room were coated in dust. Bedsheets were soiled. There was no geyser in the bathroom and

Our recent visit to Hotel Sea Hawk, Digha (5th to 8th July 2019) was a pleasure. It was for the launch of my new book PURSUIT, as well as celebrating my wife’s birthday. We had booked the cottage. As you turn left from the main road, towards Saikatabas and Hotel Sea Hawk, Digha has had a facelift. With a spread-out promenade with park and pavement. One pavement leads straight to mohana. Though there are remote controlled electric buggies for kids, it would have been nice to have a few electric buggies to drive down to mohana for those unable to walk. From the cottage, there is lovely view of garden overlooking the azure. Weather pleasant, the rumble of waves would beckon anyone to walk along pavement in front of the cottage through a rear gate right onto the seafront. You could

Their staff is uncooperative at their best. They don't have a regular restaurant and it is often closed in noon. Food quality, when available, is good. Rooms are dinghy. It is difficult to discern which is cleaner, the commode or the quilt. ACs often work and oftener drips. The sea is good though, yet I suspect, the hoteliers had little to do with it.

The property is very well located near Digha Beach but is very poorly maintained, with unprofessional staff, dirty furniture and not so prompt service. The only good was the home style food. Not recommended.
