Had a fantastic stay at the Birdcage in September. This place was on our to do list and it was quite above our expectations The Birdcage is a passion project of Nishant, who stays at the property itself and ensures each guest has the best experience. The place is amazingly serene and the rooms are really well done The cool breeze of the Mukteshwar mountains kept us wanting to stay outdoors as much as possible. The food , is something that defines the Birdcage and the desserts are the highlight of the entire gourmet experience. And dear Joey, Nishant's lab is a delight to be around. He is super friendly and playful. In conclusion, it was a great trip and we are already planning our next trip 😁

The Birdcage is an excellent choice if you would like a neat, clean, lush green, boutique place where from the owner to every individual staff member is committed to great service and attention.

We went there with family and our dog for a week. It was such a lovely experience that we hardly stepped out! Do try out their private bonfire in the evenings.

The food served is delicious and I’d recommend that you try our multiple dishes over time - whether it’s continental or Indian - their chefs have it well covered.

Nishant (owner) gives personal attention to each guest.

A friend recommended this place and I’m glad he did. Will visit again soon!

Thanks Birdcage team!

We got to The Birdcage on a cold, wet day, having driven up from Delhi through a coastal-style downpour. Nishant had a roaring fire and a hot lunch waiting for us, and that set the tone for the rest of our brief but wonderful stay there. What struck us most was the attention to detail: the carefully chosen decor, the ease of having plenty of accessible (and working!) plug points in a room, the food, the plants and little garden spaces attached to each room... It's apparent that every detail has been carefully thought through and planned.

Nishant and Joey were wonderful hosts, spending time chatting with us, playing frisbee with the kids in our group (Joey, not Nishant!), and offering helpful suggestions for what we could see and do in the area.

The rooms were very comfortable and planned really well, so there's plenty of space for everything, even though they aren't super large. The bed warmers were a super hit, as was the skylight and the spectacular views of the mountains from our bed. Particular shout out for the lovely light fittings and the large full-length mirror!

The restaurant at The Birdcage is popular and often has customers who aren't staying in the hotel. The food was good, with my highlight being the Eggs Benedict for breakfast on our last morning there. Other highlights were the famed Lamb Burger, the Baked Broccoli and the masala fries that disappeared almost instantly!

The service was spot on. Raju who looked after us in the dining room was highly efficient, quick and friendly - with everything from managing complicated food orders from a group of 11 people, to keeping the fire going in the dining room.

The only thing missing is a common space for guests to congregate. Without a living room, or a lounge of some sort, it leaves large groups like ours without a space to hang out together on cold evenings or if the weather isn't conducive to sitting out in one of the gardens in the day.

Thank you, Nishant, for a wonderful stay, and we'll definitely be back!

I stayed in Bird cage with my family. They follow all the safety precaution and Nishant is very perticular about them. Food is also very good and in case you don’t like something it is made again as per your liking and taste. We stayed in a suite with a beautiful view, going from delhi and seeing a blue sky is a luxury in itself.

You are assured even more by seeing that property is not that big and therefore less chances of contacting corona and also a place where you get some quiet.

Only one feedback is that outside seating swing should be changed since we fell 2 times and when we informed then response was not serious or apologetic

Hi Mohit, It was really nice meeting and hosting your family! Thanks much for remembering us this fondly. Sorry for any inconvenience cased by the swing, however we changed its position immediately after you left. There was a problem with its center of gravity being off, and thus it kept losing balance. We certainly hope to meet you here soon again :)

‘A home away from home’, sounds a bit cliched but our stay at The Birdcage felt exactly this way.

We booked ourselves at The Apricot suite which had its own small private garden, sitting and walking area. The Suite comes with a beautiful living room with a perfectly located Study desk. The bedroom too is extremely spacious, well lit and was done up very aesthetically. The bathroom was extremely clean and neat and had good supply of warm water.

Since we travelled during the peak of 3rd wave in India, this place provided an unmatched safety harbour. The arrival was only possible if one had taken 2 doses of vaccines and with a RT PCR negative report and the entire staff followed Covid protocols through our stay of wearing mask always.

The views from the place are majestic, one one side one can see Dhanchuli and from the other side the mighty Himalayas with ranges like Panchachuli and few others on a clear day. We could see the ranges from the living room of The Apricot suite and were able to see incredible sunrises from the bedroom window.

There are many walking trails one can take from the property itself or by driving a short distance and then head out for a walk.

There was slippage in the food once and it was corrected immediately. Barring that one time, the food was good.

About the host, Nishant was extremely kind and warm right from the time we connected with him for our bookings and thereafter through our stay. We had planned our trip for 5 days and extended it by another 6 days. He provided us with all the guidance to take nature walk and made us familiar with the area.

Joe was extremely adorable too..

The entire staff at The Birdcage was courteous and extremely service oriented. They were prompt in service and always available to help.

This indeed felt like home and I thank Nishant & his entire team for all the care and best that the hospitality industry has to offer. We will be going back again soon.

One of our most memorable vacation is the one we traveled to Mukteshwar and to our luck we chose The Birdcage. Superb is the only word which justifies this beautiful property and the hospitality we received from its owner Mr Nishant.
The location and views from Birdcage are breathtakingly beautiful. Rooms are very cosy and tastefully made. Skylight in each of the room was like cherry on the top. Bonfires in private gardens are one kinda experience.
Coming to food, it’s lip smacking be it Indian or Continental, do try their desserts, lemon curd tart and berry cheese cake were bomb.
The staff at birdcage were amongst the most humble and polite and were always available at our call.
Joey is a cutie and too adorable, our daughter and Joey became bestest of friends during our stay.
Would highly recommend The Birdcage in Mukteshwar if you truly want to sit in lap of nature and enjoy the beauty of life.

The hotel is around 9 hours from Gurgaon including 90 minute stoppage in between. Amazing cosy little place with 7 rooms. The food here is fantabulous. We had a 10 day stay here, and Nishant is a Super-Welcoming Host. This place is pet-friendly and our pet was the chief guest here. The hosts are amazingly hospitable and cooperative of organising hikes, small get togethers and celebratory dinners. My wife celebrated her 40th birthday here, and our private courtyard was decorated brilliantly with an intimate setting by the staff here. This place has the BESTEST food on offer in the whole of Mukteshwar. Take my word for it. Each room opens up to its private balcony and some rooms have their own private gardens. Keep up the good service, Nishant. We'll be returning soon.

We spent 5 nights from 18th April to 23rd April. The Birdcage is a boutique hotel and one of the best we have stayed in. The facilities are impeccably maintained, staff is extremely well trained and the food, especially the Continental dishes are out of this world. Nishant, congratulations on running such a great place. I can't complete the review without a mention of Joey, the resident labrador, so cute and adorable.

If you want to move away from the madding crowds, and find peace in a place filled with the beauty of nature, and live in a hotel that nestles in the heart of nature, then you don't need to look further than The BirdCage at Mukteshwar. Tastefully designed and stylised by the owners, The BirdCage has thought about every need of the guest, incl electric blankets and electric heaters. Each room has its own unique feature, and affords privacy so that you can be with the mountains without even stepping out of the hotel. If you like hiking and trekking, you can speak to the owners who are more than happy to help you out with all the information you need. If you would like help with transport or a picnic basket, its all provided for you happily. Although there are a few nice places to eat the local cuisine, do have a few meal in the lovely restaurant at the hotel that serves great food.

Lost count of the number of times we have come here and can’t put a number to times we will come. But come we will. Don’t come here and expect city subservience from the staff, the star hotels bend over backwards mentality. They know their stuff, they do it very well and are very well trained and as for the food and the people, if you have issues with this, then the problem clearly is with you.

The place is lovely and classy. Yes the door may not shut perfectly, but how’s than an issue. The creek maybe there but what’s the issue there. The toilet is spot on, the food is brilliant, the staff is trained and the owner lives right there ti address a genuine concern and not to pander to needs of the city bred spoilt. This is really not for everyone. In this place this gorgeous property being the way is speaks loads about the brand they are. They should not and will not and I hope continue not to cater to all and sundry.

The rooms are excellent and nice views and that’s what that matters. The food is perfect. Don’t come here to rant about the wifi and the room service and the what not as I realise complaints can emanate from anything and can hence actually be created from a non event.

Come stay enjoy the professionalism and warmth and their extremly product and go. If you are looking to the team to nod and agree to everything you say, please stay elsewhere.

We stay here cos in this location and such a far off place, all is perfect. Don’t complain and you can’t get it wrong.

Am so glad they are the way they are.

Apricot the suit room is perfect. You can ask about the price and mentally wander around justifying the price or come stay and see the nature and sit and breathe easy and have a good time.

Nishant is the owner and very hands on. It’s a lovely place to come and soak up nature. Lots of warmth from the owners to the people who work there. It’s a very classy and different experience unlike with the hotels and pomp and show. It’s let’s say made for the ones with taste and those who like quiet.

Hi Nachiket, glad to hear from you. We have a small hospital in Mukteshwar itself (3kms away) which had basic first aid / medical assistance. It's run by the Chirag Foundation. Otherwise the bestest proper hospital with emergency services is in Haldwani (2 hours drive away). Hope this helps. Thank you. Nishant
