The trip to Glasshouse was the best thing that happened in this year.. we were 3 couples with kids and we all had a splendid time to say the least. Every aspect of this place was perfect, our rooms, food at the restaurant, stunning view of the ganga,a private beach, and above all an extremely polite and attentive team of staff members. We went for treks, we lounged around in the deck and enjoyed the hospitality the property had to offer. I must thank Mr. Makrand and his team to make our trip so memorable.. they accommodated all our requests and were always very forthcoming. We infact extended our trip by a day as we were having a fabulous time!
We were really looking forward to a break after the endless lockdown. We chose The Glasshouse on the Ganges for our first vacation which has just reopened because of our many happy holidays with the Neemrana group and their unmatchable hospitality. We were extremely happy with the services and the authentic food which was served with such finesse and grace by the local team members. The hotel organised a special private dinner for us which was the highlight of our trip. All the hygiene and safety protocols were in place and there are plenty of open spaces to read and unwind. The Spa is also scheduled to open soon as per the hotel management. A must visit for all those that want to be close to nature !
As soon as you step into the property, you are blown by the sight of the mighty River Ganga in its full form almost visible everywhere from the start of property dining and reception, till the last cottage. Our check in /checkout was smooth and seamless ,handled by Mr Aman .We stayed for 2 nights in Kosi room and one night in Sharda. Although Kosi was gigantic and twin bedded,it had a huge terrace and being in the center of the cottage on first floor,it had the best view! Mornings were special with the yoga sessions and delicious breakfast, freshly squeezed orange juice along with usual continental and Indian fare .The staff is super attentive to all our needs and service is always topped with a smile. So well fed we were, that all three days we skipped lunch! Next came the high tea with delicious coffee/ tea, cookies, cake and pakoras .What more can you ask in this chilly weather. So much of food would push us to walk but mind you walking outside the property was a dampener due to road work going on . So we went for a short morning trek at 6.30 guided by Thakurji our very own gatekeeper who had immense eye for various birds and knowledge of unique plants on the way. We were joined by Mr Makrand ( manager) who too were new to the place but in course of three days made us feel very warm and special. Highly recommend morning walk. The hotel was kind in arranging a surprise cake on my bday . On our last night ,hotel arranged private barbeque for us( chargeable)in the most beautiful setup with lanterns etc in their patio and a private table, personal chef, personal server. Felt like royalty! The Amrit spa was relaxing,Ms Dima attended me and I was very happy to take a spa ( by Forrest essentials)after the trek . Evening aartis by their private beach and following it up to the small Shiv temple on the property was truly enriching and personal as opposed to crowded Rishikesh aartis. The place is good 22 km away from Rishikesh so going up down is quite expensive .There are absolutely no stores, cafes, restaurant outside the property so you may just be restricted to the property but we were more than glad and didn't miss being in this magical setup, beautiful weather, awesome view, top class service, vintage feel. THANK YOU GLASSHOUSE !…
From our check in on the 3 night till we checked out we were treated as Royalty .Ashok planned our wild water rafting and other arrangements with a beaming smile . From yoga in the morning to evening Ganga Aarti in the evening it was a heavenly experience. Best part is you can take a dip in the Ganges from the hotel beach . The sound of the river is very soothing . Bhim at the restaurant with Padhi tea gave us outstanding service 🙏 Will be definitely back .
LOCATION ,ROOMS ,AMENITIES ,STAFF everything is good. FOOD is not good at all worst part is that you cannot find anything to eat outside the hotel. town is atleast 8 to 9 kms away .one has to have own car as hotel taxi is very expensive. better to visit during the season of the place ,maybe they may hire good chefs then . we being vegetarians had ordered dal makhni ,kadhai panner & paneer makhni [ to be on safe side for first day,s order ] but everything which came was orange in colour & not worth the price they charged for it
